
India’s leading premium electric motorcycle manufacturer, Ultraviolette has expanded its portfolio of premium motorcycles with the addition of a new electric scooter. The launch of this electric scooter, called Ultraviolette Tesseract, has now been postponed to January 2027, but the company is promising to bring an improved version instead of the already launched model.
Ultraviolet Tesseract launch delayed
Bengaluru-based premium and enthusiast electric mobility solutions provider, Ultraviolette, has delayed the launch of its first electric scooter, the Tesseract. Ultraviolette has announced the prices, which will start in March 2025, starting at Rs 1.2 lakh (ex-sh). It has been over a year since buyers have been waiting for their Tesseract scooter.

The initial response to the Ultraviolet Tesseract was good enough that the company had to raise the initial price. Now, the scooter is confirmed to hit showrooms in January 2027. After the price announcement, Ultraviolette apparently took the Tesseract scooter to 30 cities in India to gather people’s feedback and feedback.
Based on these feedback, Ultraviolette has made some changes to the Tesseract scooter to make it more user-friendly. For starters, UV has updated the Tesseract’s seat to make it wider and better padded for comfort. The scooter is now more suited to smaller riders as it allows them to reach the ground better.

Another feedback was regarding floorboard practicality, which has been redesigned to be more user-friendly and more practical. These changes are aimed at making the Tesseract more practical for buyers when deliveries begin after launch in January 2027.
100V architecture
Ultraviolette has just confirmed that the revised Tesseract scooter will come with 100V architecture, making it the first electric scooter in India to do so. The cited benefits are 3 times higher power delivery than the industry, 2 times faster charging capability, higher sustained performance under tough riding conditions, higher load carrying capacity and improved overall system reliability and energy efficiency.

The motor will be a 15 kW unit, producing 20.11 bhp. The battery size goes up to 6 kWh, promising a range of up to 261 km on a single charge and a top speed of 125 km/h. 14″ wheels, 34L underseat boot, 12L panniers, front and rear dashcams, 7″ touchscreen instrument cluster with built-in navigation, outlandish design and other elements worth mentioning.

Speaking at the announcement, Narayan Subramaniam, CEO and co-founder of Ultraviolette, said, “Building Tesseract has been an incredibly ambitious and challenging journey for us. As we moved the platform through development and validation, it became clear that additional engineering and refinement was needed to achieve the standards we had set for ourselves – particularly on the ride ergonomics and radical redesign of the battery architecture.

While this extends our launch timeline, it ensures that every Tesseract customer gets a scooter that is not only future ready but embodies the Ultraviolette DNA of performance, technology and reliability.
