
Domestic 2W sales grew by 27.49% year-on-year in April 2026, while exports grew by 41.19% led by Bajaj Auto.
India’s two-wheeler industry made a positive start to FY 2027 with healthy growth in both domestic sales and exports in April 2026. Improved rural demand, stable supply chain and strong dispatches in the commuter as well as premium segments supported the overall volumes. While domestic sales of major OEMs crossed the 17.77 lakh units mark, exports also remained strong at around 4.8 lakh units.
2W Domestic Sales April 2026
Domestic two-wheeler sales of 6 leading OEMs stood at 17,77,224 units in April 2026, registering a strong growth of 27.49% YoY as compared to 13,94,002 units sold in April 2025. However, sales declined by 4.68% on MoM basis as compared to 18,64,465 units sold in March 2026.

Hero MotoCorp retained its No. 1 position in domestic sales with sales of 5,32,433 units last month. The company recorded an impressive growth of 84.54% YoY as compared to 2,88,524 units sold in April 2025. Hero also captured around 30% market share in the domestic two-wheeler segment. Despite strong annual growth, sales declined by 3.63% compared to March 2026.
Honda is at second position with sales of 4,84,000 units, which is 14.69% more than 4,22,000 units sold last year. TVS Motor took the third position with 3,48,545 units, up 7.69% YoY. Bajaj Auto reported domestic sales of 2,10,063 units, an improvement of 11.37% year-on-year. Royal Enfield continued its strong momentum in the premium motorcycle segment with domestic sales growing 37.01% year-on-year to 1,04,129 units. Suzuki Motorcycle India added 98,054 units in domestic sales registering a marginal growth of 2.98% YoY.

2W Export April 2026
Two-wheeler exports from 6 major OEMs recorded stronger growth than domestic sales during April 2026. Total exports stood at 4,78,476 units, which is 41.19% higher than 3,38,898 units exported in April 2025. Exports improved by 18.88% MoM compared to 4,02,496 units shipped in March 2026.
Bajaj Auto dominated exports by shipping 2,29,890 units globally and achieved 48.05% export market share. Bajaj’s exports grew by 77.77% YoY as well as 44.18% MoM, making it the strongest exporter among all major OEMs. TVS Motor stood second with 1,06,788 units exported. While year-on-year growth remained almost stable at 0.27%, exports declined by 15.08% compared to March 2026.
Honda motorcycle exports stood at 79,600 units with 37.48% YoY and 116.06% MoM growth. Hero MotoCorp exported 33,653 units, almost double the volume with 99.34% year-on-year growth. Suzuki’s exports improved 10.01% year-on-year to 19,510 units. Royal Enfield was the only major brand to record a decline in exports, which declined 14.42% year-on-year to 9,035 units.

Total 2W Sales in April 2026
Including domestic sales and exports, total two-wheeler sales from 6 leading OEMs stood at 22,55,700 units in April 2026, registering a healthy growth of 30.17% as compared to 17,32,900 units sold in April 2025. However, on MoM basis, total sales declined marginally by 0.50% compared to 22,66,961 units sold in March. 2026.
Hero MotoCorp led the overall market with cumulative sales of 5,66,086 units, followed by Honda with 5,63,600 units. TVS Motor stood third with 4,55,333 units, while Bajaj Auto recorded total sales of 4,39,953 on the back of exceptionally strong export demand. Suzuki recorded total sales of 1,17,564 units during the month, while Royal Enfield added 1,13,164 units. Strong demand for commuter motorcycles, scooters and premium bikes helped the industry maintain momentum at the start of the new financial year.
