Tata Motors has released another teaser of the upcoming Sierra EV ahead of its launch on June 30, 2026. Unlike the previous teaser, which focused on the SUV’s dual-motor QWD (quad wheel drive) technology, the latest video fully reveals the Sierra EV’s exterior design, while also hinting at a dramatic challenge – an attempt to climb Tal Moreb, One of the highest and most challenging sand dunes in the world.

The new teaser shows the Sierra EV without any pretense, offering the clearest look yet at Tata’s upcoming electric SUV. The vehicle is seen driving through desert terrain, with several shots showing that Tata is preparing the Sierra EV for a dune-climbing attempt at Tal Moreb in the United Arab Emirates.

Tal Moriah challenge highlights

The teaser appears to have been shot around the Tal Moriab dunes located in the Liwa Oasis in the United Arab Emirates. Also known as the Morib Dunes or “Scary Mountain”, Tal Morib is over 300 meters high and has slopes of up to 50 degrees.

It is widely considered to have one of the tallest sand dunes in the world and is a popular venue for extreme off-road and motorsport events. By showcasing the Sierra EV in this environment, Tata Motors is keen to highlight the traction, torque delivery and all-terrain capability of the SUV, especially with the confirmed dual-motor QWD setup.

Sierra EV design revealed in detail

The latest teaser provides an extensive look at the exterior styling of the Sierra EV. At the front, the SUV gets a full-width LED light bar connecting the slim daytime running lights. The main headlamp units are located low in the bumper, creating a distinctive split-lighting setup.

The front fascia adopts a clean EV-specific design with a closed-top upper section and contrasting black bumper elements. Silver skid-plate style inserts add a strong presence, while the overall stance remains upright and muscular.

From the side, the Sierra EV retains the iconic proportions inspired by the original Sierra. Key highlights include flush-type door handles, square wheel arches with black cladding, roof rails and newly designed aerodynamic alloy wheels. The signature wraparound rear quarter glass area also remains a defining styling element.

At the rear, the SUV gets a connected LED tail lamp setup spanning the width of the tailgate. The Sierra.ev letters are prominently placed below the Tata logo, while the bumper features contrasting black and silver elements like the front.

QWD dual motor variant confirmed

Earlier teasers had already confirmed that the Sierra EV will be offered with Tata’s QWD dual-motor all-wheel-drive system. The new teaser continues to emphasize the SUV’s off-road capability by showing its prowess in loose sand and desert terrain. Similar to the Harrier EV, the dual-motor setup is expected to provide better traction and torque distribution to all four wheels. Such a configuration can be particularly useful in challenging conditions such as sand, mud and steep slopes.

Although official specifications are under wraps, the Sierra EV is expected to share most of its electric architecture with the Harrier EV. Battery pack options could go up to 75 kWh, with both single-motor and dual-motor variants likely to be offered.

Inside, the Sierra EV is expected to feature Tata’s new triple-screen dashboard layout already seen on the Sierra ICE. Other expected features include JBL audio with Dolby Atmos, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, dual-zone climate control, powered tailgate, advanced ADAS suite and an augmented reality head-up display.
