
River Mobility has rolled out the 50,000th Indy electric scooter from its manufacturing facility in Hoskote, Karnataka. This milestone comes less than three years after Indie’s launch and at a time when River is seeing its strongest sales momentum ever.
What started as a relatively small EV startup has gradually become more visible in India’s electric scooter market. the river is now More than 75 stores across the countryCompared to only 34 outlets when Indie Gen 3 launches in October 2025.

River Indy joins the top 5 electric scooters
June 2026 was particularly significant for the river. Indy recorded sales of 5,217 units as compared to 1,432 units in June 2025, resulting in a YoY growth of 264.32%. This was enough to propel the River Indy into the top five best-selling electric scooters in India during the month.
TVS iQube leads with 47,331 units, followed by Bajaj Chetak with 40,376 units, Ather Rizata with 24,742 units and Hero Vida with 20,416 units. Although River is much smaller than these established producers, reaching over 5,000 monthly sales shows how quickly the indie has progressed in recent months.

Indie Gen 3 helped strengthen the package
Rivers to launch Indie Gen 3 in October 2025 at Rs 1.46 lakh The update brought new app-based functionality, revised instrumentation, hill hold assist and grippier tyres, as well as improvements to riding dynamics based on customer feedback.
The Indy continues with a 4 kWh battery, offering an IDC range of 161 km. Peak motor output is 6.7 kW, maximum speed in rush mode is 90 km/h.
The current ex-showroom price is Rs 1,55,199. River’s retail expansion has also gained considerable momentum. From 34 stores in October 2025, the network has now grown to 75 outlets, bringing the company closer to its previously announced 80-store target.
Yamaha partnership adds another dimension
River’s growth story isn’t limited to its own indie scooter. The company has also partnered with Yamaha to mark the Japanese manufacturer’s entry into the Indian electric scooter market. The Yamaha EC-06, which was launched earlier this year at Rs 1.67 lakh, is manufactured by River and is a rebadged version of the Indy. It uses the same 4 kWh battery and 6.7 kW motor.
This partnership provides Rivers with an additional manufacturing opportunity beyond its retail business and also provides the support of a leading global two-wheeler brand. With Indy now among the top five electric scooters in India, a rapidly growing retail network and the Yamaha partnership increasing in scale, the 50,000-unit milestone comes at an important point in River Mobility’s growth journey.
