Honda Cars India Limited has released the teaser of the ZR-V e:HEV ahead of its official launch. This is Honda’s first CBU model for the Indian market since the discontinuation of the CR-V SUV in 2020. This suggests that the Honda ZR-V will be positioned as an aspirational halo car rather than targeting huge sales volumes.
Due to its CBU (completely built unit) direction (possibly imported from Japan), the Honda ZR-V e:HEV will get premium pricing and early estimates suggest around Rs 45 lakh (ex-sh). Let’s take a closer look at Honda’s new teaser for the ZR-V e:HEV.
Honda ZR-V hybrid SUV teaser
On May 22, 2026, Honda Cars India Limited is expected to launch or launch two vehicles. One is a mid-life facelift for the much-talked-about sedan, the City, and the other is a new nameplate, the ZR-V, for the Indian market. We first had the WR-V sub 4m crossover SUV in India, the BR-V 7-seater C segment SUV and then the CR-V large SUV.
In the latest teaser, the front silhouette of the Honda ZR-V e:HEV is highlighted. It looks more or less the same as the international-spec model. The teaser shows L-shaped LED DRLs, Honda logo, sculpted bonnet, large ORVMs, flush-type roof rails, a sunroof and more.

The teaser says ‘Get ready to embark on a sporty drive’ and the caption says ‘What happens when thrilling performance meets advanced hybrid technology? Stay tuned to find out’. The name ZR-V e:HEV confirms that this is indeed the hybrid version. The ZR-V e:HEV may be priced at a premium level due to its CBU route.
The same grille with vertical strips, sporty bumper, non-connected LED tail lights, up to 19-inch wheels, clear exhaust outlets and other design features are expected with the India-spec model. It even has a hint of a sloping coupe-style roofline, making it look quite sophisticated.

what to expect?
In terms of dimensions, the Honda ZR-V measures 4,568 mm in length, 1,840 mm in width, 1,620 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,657 mm long. Ground clearance is approximately 180 mm and boot space is approximately 380L, which can be expanded to 1,312L by folding the rear seats. The Honda ZR-V is a full-fledged 5-seater SUV.
One may get colors and interior themes dedicated to the Indian market. The global model features a dual-tone interior theme, which is traditionally designed. The 9-inch infotainment screen and 10.2-inch instrument cluster are not connected and the steering wheel is a three-spoke unit. There is an electronic shifter in the center console.

Equipment will include level-2 ADAS, 360-degree cameras, panoramic sunroof, dual zone climate control, powered front seats, memory function for the driver seat, powered tailgate, 12-speaker Bose premium audio system and more. The sole powertrain option will be a 2.0L engine mated to a battery and motor for propulsion, promising a peak system output of 280 bhp and 240 Nm, mated to an ECVT with a 0-100 km/h sprint of 8 seconds.
