
Kia achieved 6.5% market share with stable sales led by Sonet and Seltos by March 2026.
Kia has recorded a strong performance with total sales of 29,112 units till March 2025. It secured the number 6 position among the leading automakers in India. The company reported year-on-year (YoY) growth of 14% at 25,525 units in March 2025, while on a month-on-month (MoM) basis, sales remained stable at 5% compared to February 2026, when sales stood at 27,610 units.

Kia Sonet was the company’s best-selling model with sales of 12,012 units in March 2026. Demand remained high on a YoY and MoM basis with YoY growth of 56% from 7,705 units in March 2025, while MoM sales increased by 23% from 9,780 units in March 2025. The new generation Sonet is in the works and is expected to be launched in 2027.

At number 2 was the new generation Seltos which recently claimed a 5 star Bharat NCAP safety rating. Seltos has registered the highest growth among Kia models. A strong contender in the 4.2 meter – 4.5 meter SUV segment, Seltos sales grew 69% to 11,041 units from 6,525 units.
This is the highest ever monthly sales of the new Seltos since deliveries began earlier this year. MoM sales also ended on a positive note with an improvement of over 7% at 10,308 units. Based on the success of the Kia Seltos, the company is now planning to expand the variants in the Seltos GTX and X-Line trims to include the GTX(O) and X-Line(O). Carens Clavis also remained in high demand with sales of 5,933 units in March 2026 and YoY growth of 8%, while its MoM sales declined by 13% compared to 6,815 units in February 2026.

Decline in sales of Kia Carnival and Sciros
Sales of the company’s more premium and exclusive models took a serious hit during the last month. The Kia Carnival, Ciros, EV6 and EV9 have entered the red. Carnival sales declined 71% YoY and 11% MoM to 67 units. 230 units and 75 units were sold in March 2025 and February 2026 respectively.
Syros added small numbers to total sales with 59 units sold last month, a massive 99% decline from 5,015 units sold in March 2025. MoM sales also declined by 91% compared to February 2026 sales of 662 units. Kia’s EV6 and EV9 electric cars recorded zero sales last month.
