Vespa has been in the news with a new lineup of special editions, called the Officina 8. This Officina 8 special edition is offered with 125 cc and 150 cc powertrain options and is an example of the workshop where the first Vespa scooter was designed and developed. Vespa Officina 8 launched
As far as pricing is concerned, the Vespa Officina 8 Special Edition starts at Rs 1.34 lakh (ex-sh) for the 125cc model. This special edition is all about celebrating Vespa’s rich heritage and paying homage to its birthplace, the Officina 8. If we go back in history, Officina 8 was the experimental department at the Piaggio plant in Pontedera, Italy.
It is here that Vespa was conceived, designed and brought to life. It operated as a dedicated experimental workshop run by a select team of engineers, designers, tinsmiths and mechanics. Before reaching the production stage, Officina 8 operated independently from the regular production lines to work on new concepts, test prototypes and work tirelessly.
Paying homage to its birthplace, the 2026 Vespa Officina 8 comes with an exclusive new colour. Called Matte Metallic Blue Officina 8, this color is inspired by the tools, machinery and workwear of the original Officina 8 workshop in Pontedera. Contrasting this blue shade is the brass and aluminum finish on the rivets and other elements.
Standard color-matched helmet, optional accessories
Along with the 2026 Vespa Officina 8 scooter, the company has also introduced dedicated high-end merchandise and accessories. The Vespa Officina 8 scooter is being offered as standard with a colour-matched helmet. Optional elements include a color-matched top box. Official merchandise includes a windbreaker, hoodie, T-shirt, backpack and key chain featuring the Oficina 8 insignia.
With every Vespa Officina 8, the company is also giving a complimentary welcome kit specially crafted from tin. It includes an owner’s book that commemorates 8 decades of the Vespa brand’s history. It is powered by the same 125cc and 150cc engine options with similar equipment, design and features as its standard counterparts.
