The NEX 2 is part of the Vida Novus range, a new platform focused on providing advanced mobility solutions for urban environments
Hero MotoCorp had unveiled its Vida Novus range at EICMA 2025. It included three mobility solutions – NEX 1, NEX 2 and NEX 3. In addition to their focus on sustainability, these electric mobility solutions are powered by intelligent and connected systems. In the latest development, Hero has patented the NEX 2 electric trike.
Hero Vida Nex 2 – Design and features
As seen in the design patent images, the overall profile is quite similar to the model unveiled at EICMA 2025. The electric trike has a wider front section to accommodate the two front wheels. At the back, the NEX 2 has a narrower profile. The exact dimensions of the NEX 2 have not been revealed. However, given that the NEX 2 is designed for urban environments, one can expect it to be as compact as possible.

Another focus area will be on mobility, which is essential for urban environments. Like other performance-oriented trike vehicles available globally, the Hero Vida Nex 2 uses a complex front suspension setup. This allows the user to lean into corners, similar to a standard motorcycle or scooter.

The NEX 2 is positioned as a compact, self-balancing trike. This is one of the key features that differentiates it from a standard scooter or motorcycle. With the NEX 2, riders don’t have to worry about balancing the bike while riding or at a stop. The NEX 2 can automatically stabilize at low speeds or during stops such as traffic signals.

Hero has ensured a distinctive, shapely design for the NEX 2. Key features include a large windscreen, bright LED lights and a thick front apron. The NEX 2 uses large alloy wheels that have a V-shaped spoke design. Given the distance between the handlebar and the rider seat, a slightly committed riding stance seems possible. This riding posture can be useful for fast driving in urban environments.

The NEX 2 also focuses on utility and practical applications. It has a large storage space, which can be accessed by opening the front lid. Other key features include a rounded instrument console, retractable footpegs, strong grab rails and a short tail section.

Performance, Range, Specifications
The detailed specifications of Hero Vida Nex 2 have not been revealed yet. One can expect a silent, high-torque electric motor, integrated directly into the chassis. The NEX 2 is expected to get a direct-drive automatic transmission. It is likely to use a lithium-ion battery pack with fast charging support. The battery pack will be placed low to achieve the optimal center of gravity.

The NEX 2 may prioritize performance over maximum limits. However, given the capabilities of current generation battery technology, a range of 100+ km is likely. Although the design has been patented, there is not enough clarity regarding the launch timeline of the NEX 2. Considering that it will be launched soon, the NEX 2 could be India’s first performance-oriented electric trike. However, trikes are often relatively expensive compared to standard scooters and motorcycles. It will be interesting to see what pricing strategy Hero adopts for the NEX 2.
