Nearly three months after the SUV’s launch in March 2026, Renault India has announced ARAI-certified fuel efficiency figures for the Duster Turbo TCe 100. While Renault had revealed mileage figures for the more powerful 1.3-litre turbo petrol variant in March, the efficiency ratings of the entry-level 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine had remained unknown until now.
Renault Duster 1.0 Turbo mileage announced
The company has now confirmed that the Duster Turbo TCe 100 delivers an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 19.41 km/l, making it one of the most fuel efficient turbo petrol SUVs in its segment. The Duster Turbo TCe 100 is powered by a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that develops 100 PS and 160 Nm of torque. It is offered exclusively with a 6-speed manual gearbox and is positioned as the entry point into the new generation Duster lineup.

Commenting on the development, Dr. V. Vikraman, Head of Renault EngineeringRenault Group India said the mileage figure reflects Renault’s focus on balancing performance and efficiency through turbocharging and optimized combustion technology. Built on Renault’s new RGMP platform, the 1.0-litre turbo powertrain has been specifically calibrated for the Duster. According to Renault, the setup is designed to deliver responsive performance while maintaining low costs for everyday driving.
Interestingly, this is not the first time that an OEM has revealed mileage figures months after its launch. Tata Motors adopted a similar strategy with the Sierra earlier this year, announcing certified fuel efficiency figures shortly after the vehicle went on sale.

Mileage of Duster vs rivals
With a certified fuel efficiency of 19.41 km/l, the Duster Turbo TCe 100 competes favorably against many popular petrol SUVs in the segment. between direct rivalsThe Hyundai Creta 1.5 NA petrol returns a mileage of up to 17.7 km/l, the Kia Seltos 1.5 NA petrol returns a mileage of 16.5 km/l, while the Honda Elevate petrol returns a mileage of 16.92 km/l. Even many large turbo petrol SUVs lag behind the Duster’s efficiency figures.
The mileage of the Duster TCe 100 is also higher than its more powerful brother. The 1.3-litre turbo petrol Duster is rated at 17.75 km/l with the manual gearbox and 18.45 km/l with the automatic transmission. Currently only a few mainstream SUVs offer high claimed fuel efficiency. This includes Diesel powered models like Hyundai Creta diesel (21.8 km/l) and Tata Sierra diesel (21.26 km/l), while Maruti Grand Vitara Hybrid remains the leader with a certified 27.97 km/l.
Duster price, engine options
Renault currently offers the Duster with two turbocharged petrol engine options. The 1.0-litre turbo TCe 100 is priced between Rs 10.49 lakh to Rs 13.49 lakh, while the more powerful 1.3-litre turbo petrol ranges from Rs 12.99 lakh to Rs 18.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The 1.3-litre engine offers significantly higher performance and is available with automatic transmission options, targeting buyers looking for a more premium driving experience.
Hybrid Duster is coming this year
Renault is preparing to expand the Duster lineup even further. There is expected to be a strong-hybrid version of the SUV Launched around Diwali 2026Which gives Renault a direct rival to hybrid SUVs like the Maruti Grand Vitara Hybrid and the Toyota Fortuner Hybrid.
With the inclusion of a hybrid variant later this year and a recently announced 19.41 km/litre efficiency figure for the TCe 100, Renault is strengthening the Duster’s appeal among both performance-focused and fuel-conscious buyers in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment.
