Off-road-y versions of wagons or estates offer stronger mechanics, rough-road capability, higher ground clearance, and more. Audi has launched the allroad version of its A6 Avant launched last year in Germany at a starting price of EUR 77,250 (roughly Rs. 84.61 lakh) and is expected to be launched in other global markets like North America soon.
What was not expected was the sheer drama that the 2027 Audi A6 Allroad brings to the table as it now comes with a host of standard equipment such as a lifted suspension, quattro AWD system, rear-wheel steering and, for the first time for an Audi estate, a widebody kit, a treatment previously reserved only for the RS6.

New Audi A6 Allroad
Audi used to provide the widebody treatment only to its high-performance flagship estate vehicle, the RS6. With the launch of the 2027 Audi A6 Allroad, the widebody exclusivity used by the RS6 has now been extended to mainstream buyers. The A6 Allroad is based on the A6 Avant, but differs by the widebody treatment and more.
When we say more, we mean more ground clearance, which is up by 34 mm and then the Allroad gets body and wheel arch cladding for added safety. The widebody treatment for the A6 Allroad makes it 111 mm wider than the A6 Avant. Both the front and rear axles have been widened to accommodate the larger wheels, ranging in size up to 21-inches and tires up to 285/35.

The Audi A6 Allroad features the same matrix LED headlights as the A6 Avant along with a larger front grille, swoopy roofline, larger window area, connected rear multi-layer LED tail lights, semi-flush door handles, sporty rear bumper and a 14.5-inch infotainment screen, 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster, optional 10.5-inch front passenger screen, new steering wheel and It gets the same interior with a gloss black center console.
Diesel, PHEV engine options
For the first time, the Audi A6 Allroad has been offered with a PHEV setup (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) called the A6 Allroad e-Hybrid. This setup features a 2.0L turbo petrol and a 20.7 kWh battery pack that powers an electric motor. Total system output is rated at 362 bhp and 500 Nm and promises 0-100 km/h acceleration in 5.5 seconds, top speed of 250 km/h and a pure EV range of 95 km.

Then there’s the tried and tested 3.0L turbo diesel V6 with 295 bhp and 580 Nm and a 0-100 km/h sprint of 5.4 seconds, which is quicker than the PHEV setup. With the new A6 Allroad, Audi is offering rear-wheel steering and the quattro AWD system as standard. Rear wheel steering is rated to provide 5-degree bi-directional motion, opposite direction to the front wheels for maneuverability and same direction for high-speed stability.
