Hyundai has been teasing the next-gen i20 hatchback for some time now. There have already been two teasers where the first teaser showed a glimpse of its headlights which were inspired by Lamborghini. The second teaser also showed the headlights, door handles and its taillights, among other things.
Now the third teaser has been aired and it is a little more interesting as it shows some of the interiors of the next-generation i20. Specifically, the touchscreen infotainment display and the instrument cluster display which are housed in the same housing.
Next-gen i20 interior teaser released
Hyundai Motor Company is the Official Partner of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. At that grand venue, the company is expected to unveil the next-generation version of its popular i20 hatchback. Several spy shots have surfaced showing some design aspects of this upcoming popular hatchback.
What we can see in the spy shots and teasers suggests that this upcoming next-generation version of the i20 hatchback will be the most radical and most comprehensive update for this nameplate. Talking about the new teaser, it shows two displays (one for infotainment and the other for driver’s instrumentation) in one housing.
This could be similar to the setup we have seen in the new Venue SUV, which includes two 12.3-inch displays housed in a curved housing. These displays are easy to operate and have excellent resolution. The system is equipped with built-in maps, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and other elements.
what to expect?
Externally, the next-generation Hyundai i20 will come with a major redesign and an all-new silhouette. This new silhouette gives it a crossover-like stance with raised kinks in the window line, flat-ish bonnet and fascia. The headlights feature Y-shaped LED DRL signatures, which seem to be inspired by Lamborghini’s latest supercars.
The rear LED tail light signature is also interesting. On the inside, the spy shots reveal three adjustable headrests at the rear, rear AC vents, plush material on the door trims and more. The lower variants get a manual gearbox, fabric seats and a manual handbrake, while the higher variants can get leatherette seat covers, electronic parking brake and automatic gearbox, level-2 ADAS, 360 cameras and more.
In terms of powertrain, Hyundai is likely to offer different engine options for different markets depending on localization. The 1.0L NA petrol and 1.0L turbo GDI are expected for Brazil, while Hyundai may offer similar engine options for India if this model comes here – 1.0L turbo GDI and 1.2L NA petrol. A hybrid engine is also rumored. The next-generation Hyundai i20 is expected to debut on the grand stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup premiere.
