Yamaha Motor India is on the verge of launching new and exciting high-performance large displacement scooters in the country. True to the description, we have the Yamaha NMAX 155 first spied in the country. For the first time, Yamaha has now also patented the NMAX 155 Tech MAX version in the country.
It has more technology, more aggression and more design than the standard NMAX 155 showcased in India and is known as the NMAX 155 Turbo in some markets. It is to be noted that the NMAX 125 Tech MAX also has a similar design but has a different engine casing, while the design patented in India matches that of the NMAX 155 Tech MAX.

New Yamaha NMX 155 Tech Max
The Aerox 155 can be called a sporty/maxi scooter design, while the NMX 155 Tech Max is a proper maxi scooter. It has an aerodynamic body design which the Aerox 155 does not have. Yamaha sells many scooters based on this desirable 155cc platform globally, but sadly, India does not get better scooters.
That may change with the launch of the NMAX 155 Tech MAX as it offers much more than the Aerox 155 sold in India. The NMX 155 Tech Max Projector brings a more desirable and sophisticated design with an LED headlight setup and better wind protection. The NMAX comes with 13-inch alloy wheels, while the Aerox comes with 14-inch alloy wheels.

In terms of instrumentation, the NMX 155 Tech Max gets an LCD instrument cluster for the speedo as well as a 4.2-inch TFT instrument cluster for more sophisticated connected features including maps and others. The switchgear also features a downshift switch, which brings more torque into the equation from the dual-stage CVT gearbox.
what to expect?
The NMAX 155 Tech MAX, like the Airox 155, is a non-step-through scooter, which means it has a central spine. In the NMAX, this spine has a larger 7.1L fuel tank. Curb weight is a little heavier with the NMX at 135 kg, but the NMX makes up for that with a lower seat height at 770 mm. Fuel consumption is rated at 2.4L/100km, giving a mileage of 41.66km/litre.

In terms of cycle parts, it should be noted that the NMAX offers a gas-charged rear twin shock setup, which offers far better comfort than the Aerox 155. Additionally, the NMAX brings front and rear disc brakes, while the Aerox only gets a disc at the front. Front storage, large under-seat storage, USB port and keyless go with smart key are common to both.
The same 155cc SOHC 4V/cyl liquid cooled single cylinder engine powers both the scooters. In the NMAX 155 Tech MAX, this engine is rated at 15.1 PS of peak power and 14 Nm of peak torque, which is the same as the Aerox.
