Performance as per OEM
Maruti Suzuki emerged as the largest OEM in the 4.2m-4.5m SUV segment in April 2026, mainly driven by the strong debut of the Victories. Combined sales of Victoris and Grand Vitara stood at 21,419 units, giving Maruti a dominant segment share of 28.91%.

Creta sales were down 10.14% year-on-year, indicating increasing pressure from new rivals entering the segment. Hyundai is preparing to launch the new generation Creta and Bayon based crossover SUVs in the coming months, which will help it take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki’s Victoris + Grand Vitara combo as well as others.

Overall, the segment is witnessing a sea change, with several new launches leading to a significant shift in OEM rankings and market share.
