While the Renault Duster laid the foundation of India’s 4.2m-4.5m C-segment SUV space, the Hyundai Creta is the model that really defined and dominated it. Since its launch, Creta has consistently remained one of the best-selling SUVs in the country. Now, Hyundai has started working on the next-generation Creta, test mules of which have already been spotted on Indian roads.

Similar to the next-generation Kia Seltos, the upcoming Creta is expected to be based on the updated Hyundai-Kia K3 platform. Although the official timeline has not been revealed yet, the launch could happen around 2027. Earlier, rendering artist Pratyush Raut has imagined the third generation Creta based on recent spy shots.

The new generation Hyundai Creta was presented
Rushlane’s third-generation Creta rendering by Pratyush Raut based on test mule spy shots is being tested from January 2026. With the K3 platform, one can expect bigger sizes with the upcoming Creta, which is evident in these renders. The spy shots have shown refined aesthetics and a more modern design approach.
For starters, Hyundai is taking a more mature approach with the third-generation Creta and it shows. The renders give a refined look with Ioniq-like pixel LED DRLs on top and headlights below that. There is a traditional Hyundai logo on the bonnet and then below that is an illuminated quad-dot Hyundai logo.

The clamshell bonnet, body color elements and contrasting black elements in the bumper inspired by the current Creta N Line are also noteworthy. There is a charging port on the upper grille and an aerodynamic flap in the lower grille. The black wheel arch cladding gives the Creta 3rd generation a muscular and strong look.
As recent spy shots reveal, the new generation Hyundai Creta is expected to get 19-inch alloy wheels like the Tata Sierra. The wheel design has also been matured a lot, which can also be seen in these renders. The windshield is relatively straight, creating more interior space and then we can also see the large glass area.

what to expect?
These renders feature flush door handles, large ORVMs with 360-degree cameras, wide rear haunches and interesting door body cladding. On the inside, the new generation Hyundai Creta could come with dual 12.3-inch infotainment and instrument screens or even a triple 30-inch Trinity display with an additional 5-inch climate control screen like the Ciaz and Seltos.
Spy shots have confirmed an electric Boss Mode with the third generation Creta. Other expected features are ventilated front seats, powered front seats, dual zone climate control, rear ventilated seats, powered tailgate, level-2 ADAS, panoramic sunroof, premium Bose speakers, auto-dimming IRVM, dashcam, 360-degree camera, digital key, one-touch up/down windows and more.

The same trio of 1.5L 4-cylinder engines (1.5L NA petrol, 1.5L turbo petrol, 1.5L turbo diesel) are expected to be carried forward. A self-charging hybrid powertrain is also said to be in the works, which may be based on the existing 1.5L NA petrol engine option. The launch is expected to take place around Diwali 2026 or early 2027. More details will be revealed in the coming months.
