Skoda is preparing to give its Slavia sedan a mid-life update, and now fresh spy photos have emerged, revealing more details than before. Captured by automotive enthusiast Anvay Sheolikar while testing in Maharashtra, the latest test mule offers a clear look at the exterior and even a glimpse of the cabin, although most of the dashboard remains covered under camouflage. The updated Slavia is expected to launch later this year.
fresh exterior design
While the camouflage continues to hide key styling elements, the overall silhouette remains unchanged. The latest test mule features camouflage on the front and rear sections, indicating that these are the areas that are receiving the biggest visual updates.

At the front, the facelift is expected to get a revised grille design inspired by the new Kushaq facelift. The bumper design could be updated with sharp inserts and a more contemporary look. The headlamp internals are also likely to be revised, potentially incorporating new LED signatures. There is also a possibility of a connected LED signature element at the front, as seen on the Kushaq.
The side profile remains familiar with its coupe-like roofline and clean character lines. Interestingly, the prototype continues to run on steel wheels with a temporary cover, suggesting that testing is still ongoing. The production-spec model is expected to get a refreshed alloy wheel design.

At the rear, the updates are expected to include redesigned tail lamps and a revised bumper. Similar to the Kushaq facelift, Skoda may introduce connected lighting elements or illuminated branding, although this is not confirmed at this stage.

facelift slavia interiors
One of the highlights of these latest spy shots is the partial glimpse of the interior. While the dashboard is wrapped under camouflage, the overall layout looks similar to the existing Slavia. The test vehicle seems to feature a free-standing touchscreen infotainment unit and a familiar steering wheel design.
Based on what Skoda has introduced with the Kushaq facelift, the updated Slavia is expected to get feature additions like a larger infotainment system, updated digital instrument cluster, advanced connected car technology and new upholstery options. Features like ventilated front seats, electric sunroof, wireless smartphone connectivity, powered driver seat, automatic climate control and premium sound system are expected to continue.

new automatic gearbox expected
Under the hood, the Slavia facelift is expected to continue with the existing 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI petrol engines. However, a major update may come in the form of a new 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission for the 1.0-litre TSI engine. The 1.0-litre turbo petrol motor currently produces 116 PS and 178 Nm, while the larger 1.5-litre TSI produces 150 PS and 250 Nm. The latter is expected to continue with a 7-speed DSG gearbox.
The facelift comes at an important time for the sedan segment. While SUVs continue to dominate buyers’ preferences, the Slavia remains one of the strong performers among premium midsize sedans. Along with the Volkswagen Virtus, the MQB-A0-IN twins have steadily gained a significant share in the sedan segment.

Refreshed styling, upgraded cabin and additional features could help the Slavia strengthen its position against rivals like the Hyundai Verna and Honda City. With Skoda also expanding its network and seeing strong sales through products like the Kailash and Kushaq, the updated Slavia could play a key role in keeping the brand’s sedan portfolio relevant in the SUV-dominated market.
