India’s 150cc to 200cc motorcycle segment has not seen much action in recent times as far as new launches are concerned. However, it is one of those Goldilocks segments for OEMs where demand is stable. In the month of April 2026, the segment sold 1,86,140 units with a YoY growth of 24.91% and 1.88% MoM de-growth.
Volume growth stood at 37,124 units YoY as compared to 1,49,016 units sold in April 2025 and volume declined by 3,563 units MoM as compared to 1,89,703 units sold in March 2026. Bajaj Auto’s Pulsar lineup used to be the best seller in this segment, but with the Apache lineup ahead, the mood was in favor of TVS Motors. Let’s break down the numbers.
150cc to 200cc motorcycle sales April 2026
With 49,390 units, TVS Apache took the crown in the 150cc to 200cc motorcycle segment in the month of April 2026. When compared to 45,633 units from April 2025 and 47,081 units from March 2026, Apache sales fell completely in the green with 8.23% YoY and 4.90% MoM growth, leading to volume growth of 3,575 units YoY and 2,309 units MoM.

Trailing the Apache lineup is the Bajaj Pulsar lineup, which sold 48,190 units, giving Bajaj a YoY growth of 20.78%, but the MoM analysis saw a decline of 12.95%. Pulsar’s market share in this segment has dropped to 25.89%, which is slightly behind Apache’s 26.53%. At the third position, we have Honda Unicorn with 39,190 units with 51.09% YoY and 14.41% MoM growth.
Yamaha stood at the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh positions in the list with the FZ, R15, XSR155 and MT-15 selling 15,729 units, 9,066 units, 6,914 units and 6,741 units respectively. FZ recorded a YoY growth of 16.67%, while R15 saw a decline of 84.72% and MT-15 saw a decline of 4.04%. In MoM analysis, only R15 saw a positive growth of 11.47%, while others fell in the red.
Honda’s SP 160 ranked 8th, garnering 3,062 units and seeing a decline of 13.48% year-on-year, but MoM sales increased by a massive 514.86%, up from 498 units sold a month ago. At 9th position, we have KTM 200s (Duke, RC) at 2,775 units with 40.22% YoY growth and 20.05% MoM decline. A similar trend was seen with the Hero Xpulse 200, which saw 52.99% YoY growth and 42.11% MoM decline from sales of 2,226 units.

977 units of Suzuki Gixxer 150 lineup sold
Interestingly, Hero MotoCorp’s more affordable Extreme 160 saw lower sales in comparison at 1,345 units and fell completely into the red. Suzuki Gixxer 150s is coming with new generation versions but currently 977 units are selling for less than Rs 1,000. This resulted in a decline of 1.41% YoY and 10.69% MoM.
Apart from the commuter-y unicorn, Honda didn’t have much luck in the premium 150cc to 200cc motorcycle segment as the Hornet 2.0 and CB200X (now called NX200) sold 230 and 185 units respectively and were completely in the red. Bajaj’s Avenger and Kawasaki’s W175 did not register any sales.
