Yamaha reported domestic sales of 72,821 units in May 2026, registering a strong growth of 58% year-on-year, helped by good demand for scooters and premium motorcycles.
India Yamaha Motor reported domestic sales of 72,821 units in May 2026, registering a sharp growth of 58.01% compared to 46,086 units sold in May 2025. The company added 26,735 units year-on-year due to strong demand for RayZR, R15, MT-15 and Fascino scooters, while the newly launched XSR range also contributed significantly.
Yamaha India Sales Breakup May 2026
The RayZR remained Yamaha’s best-selling product with sales of 21,403 units in May 2026. Compared to 13,023 units sold in May 2025, scooters registered a growth of 64.35% by adding 8,380 units. RayZR accounted for 29.39% of Yamaha’s total domestic sales during the month.
The FZ series retained the second position with sales of 14,862 units, up 14.51% from 12,979 units sold a year ago. The FZ lineup contributed 20.41% of Yamaha’s total sales. Fascino scooters also delivered a strong performance with sales of 8,412 units, up 60.20% from 5,251 units sold in May 2025.
The popular R15 sportbike recorded sales of 9,803 units in May 2026, compared to 5,997 units in May 2025. This resulted in a strong surge of 63.47%, with volumes increasing by 3,806 units. The MT-15 led the pack with sales of 9,579 units, up 36.18% compared to 7,034 units sold in May last year. XSR 155 sales stood at 6,587 units. Overall, the 155cc motorcycle range accounts for 35.66% of total Yamaha sales.
Aerox 155 sales increased to 2,091 units, up 18.81% from 1,760 units sold in May 2025. The EC06 electric scooter recorded 84 units during the month. Meanwhile, Yamaha’s imported twin-cylinder motorcycles R3 and MT-03 recorded no sales in May 2026, compared to 42 units sold in the same month last year. There have been reports that both these bikes have been discontinued.

Yamaha’s domestic sales increased by 7.11% compared to April 2026. Sales rose from 67,988 units in April to 72,821 units in May, an increase of 4,833 units. RayZR registered a healthy growth of 23.73% MoM with a gain of 4,105 units. The MT-15 recorded the strongest sequential gain, rising 42.10% from 6,741 units in April to 9,579 units in May.
Aroks sales also improved by 22.42%. On the other hand, Fascino sales declined by 19.35%, while FZ and XSR witnessed a marginal decline of 5.51% and 4.73% respectively month-on-month. Yamaha’s showcase in May 2026 highlights the growing popularity of its premium motorcycle lineup and sporty scooters.
The RayZR continues to be the volume leader, while the R15, MT-15 and the newly introduced XSR range are helping strengthen Yamaha’s position in the premium two-wheeler segment. With total sales surpassing 72,000 units and growth of 58% year-on-year, Yamaha maintained strong momentum in the domestic market.
