Nagpur: The marriage of Revati, daughter of Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction) MP Supriya Sule, has become a topic of discussion in Maharashtra politics. Revati will be married to Sharang Lakhani, son of prominent industrialist Arun Lakhani, on the 20th of this month. Supriya Sule’s alliance with the family of Arun Lakhani, who was selected as the BJP candidate for Chandrapur-Wardha-Gadchiroli seat in the Maharashtra Legislative Council elections, is generating interest in political circles. But Arun Lakhani made it clear that politics and family matters are different.
It has come to light that we are getting married to the Pawar family, a big political family of Maharashtra. He also said that he is connected to Pawar’s family. While representing various political parties, he has made it clear that he will work as per the ideology of the respective parties. Kinship has nothing to do with politics. Arun Lakhani told a Marathi news channel that Supriya Sule congratulated him on being selected as the BJP MLC candidate.
Dima on victory
Arun Lakhani said that people choose those who work for them. Chandrapur-Wardha-Gadchiroli MLC has expressed confidence that he will win the elections. He said that he has a good rapport with the public. Laxman Rao Mankar Trust has conducted service programs in this area. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for giving him the opportunity to become an MLC candidate.
BJP’s priority is for industrialists
Congress Legislature Party leader Vijay Wadettiwar has criticized the BJP MLC ticket given to Arun Lakhani. He hit back and said that it seems that BJP is giving priority to industrialists more than field workers. He said that his party has already decided its candidates and will contest the elections with full strength. It was alleged that the BJP announcing candidates at the last minute despite having sufficient numbers is a sign of internal turmoil in the party. Vijay Wadettiwar said that Shailendra Aggarwal, Secretary of Congress National Kisan Cell and in-charge of many states, has been made the candidate from Chandrapur seat.
