The Kodiaq RS is being positioned as the fastest Skoda model ever launched in India, with 0 to 100 km/h acceleration being achieved in just 6.3 seconds.
The Skoda RS model has received a good response from performance enthusiasts in the country. For reference, a limited batch of Octavia RS introduced in October last year sold out in just 20 minutes. Just recently, Skoda has opened the bookings for the new Kodiaq RS. Before the launch, complete information about its performance and features has been revealed.
Skoda Kodiaq RS – Performance, Features
The Skoda Kodiaq RS is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates 265 PS and 400 Nm of torque. The Kodiaq RS has a 4×4 setup and is paired with an automatic 7-speed DSG transmission. The standard Kodiaq also uses the same engine, but it is milder in tune. It produces 204 PS and 320 Nm. On the Kodiaq RS, this engine is likely to get a revised ECU and related hardware changes to achieve better performance.
On its exterior, the Skoda Kodiaq RS variant uses gloss black elements for a sporty appearance. These can be seen on the grille, ORVMs, window line, roof rails and D-pillars. The Kodiaq RS also gets a different design and larger size for the front bumper. A similar approach can be seen with the distinctive rear bumper in black finish, a black diffuser and twin exhausts.
Other highlights include the large 20-inch alloy wheels with bright red brake callipers. Skoda is offering the Kodiaq RS in four color options – Moon White, Magic Black, Velvet Red and Steel Grey. The Kodiaq RS uses LED matrix headlights with cornering function. The ORVMs have puddle lamps and Skoda logo projection.

Inside, the Skoda Kodiaq RS uses a largely black interior theme with contrasting red elements. The latter come in the form of red ambient lighting and red stitching. The Kodiaq RS features leather sports seats that add to the premium cabin experience. These are also designed for maximum comfort during long distance journeys.
Other key features include a sports three-spoke leather multifunction steering wheel with shift paddles. The SUV gets aluminum pedals and scuff plates in the front door apertures. Users can expect a comfortable ride with front acoustic side windows and additional acoustic insulation. The Kodiaq RS features KC Advanced Keyless Entry and an electric tailgate with virtual pedals. A 725-watt Canton sound system with 13 speakers and a subwoofer has also been installed.
The Skoda Kodiaq RS features a sliding panoramic sunroof, 3-zone AC and front ventilated seats with thigh support extenders. The SUV features a large 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual wireless charging pads, and a Type-C USB port.

The Skoda Kodiaq RS offers a wide range of safety features. The package includes 9 airbags, electronic stability control, traction control system and electronic differential lock. It has hydraulic brake assist, rain brake support, electronic stability braking system and multi collision brake. In addition, Cross Differential System, Advanced Driver Attention and Drowsiness Monitor and Pre-Crash Proactive Passenger Protection System.
The Kodiaq RS comes with hill start assist, hill descent control and a tire pressure monitoring system. Driver assistance systems include progressive steering, adaptive cruise control, and dynamic chassis control with drive mode selection. The SUV also has front assist with warning and braking response, lane keeping assist, blind spot detection, rear traffic alert and an exhaust warning system.
