At the grand stage of unveiling of the Kushaq facelift in Cochin, Skoda Auto India also announced the second batch of Octavia RS for the Indian market. Along with the Octavia RS, Skoda also announced the Kodiaq RS for India, which will rival the Jeep Meridian, VW Taron R Line and the VW Tiguan R Line.
Bookings for this performance SUV have been open for some time and are expected to be launched soon. Ahead of a grand launch, the Skoda Kodiaq RS has been spotted in secret in Mumbai city, showing us real-world photos.
Skoda Kodiaq RS spied
For the first time, Skoda Auto India is introducing the RS variant of the Kodiaq in the country, making it the first SUV to come to India with the coveted RS badge. In these spy images, we can see a Kodiaq RS finished in a beautiful red colour. It is perfectly contrasted with gloss black elements to add a sporty touch.
At the front, we can see a sportier design and dedicated RS bumper with distinctive identity. LED matrix headlights are known for their powerful illumination and clever technologies like dynamic and adaptive adjustments as well as glare-free high beams for oncoming traffic. VRS badging can be seen on the front bumper and rear tailgate.

From the sides, it has a similar silhouette to the standard Kodiaq, but it gets larger 19-inch alloy wheels which could be the same units offered with the Octavia RS in India. Other notable highlights of the Kodiaq RS include red painted brake callipers for added panache, black painted ORVMs, roof rails, Skoda lettering and a snarler exhaust compared to the standard model with Dynamic Sound Boost.
sportier interiors
On the inside, the Skoda Kodiaq RS will come with all-black interiors contrasting with red highlights. These can be found on the dashboard, door trims, steering, seat upholstery and more. Talking about the seats, these will be sportier seats keeping in mind the track-focused spirited driving. A 3-spoke sports steering wheel and black headliner will also be a part of the package.
Notable features include a 13-inch infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 10-inch digital cockpit, acoustic front and side windows, three-zone climate control, smart multi-function dial on the center console, 725W 13-speaker Canton audio system, keyless entry, powered tailgate, ventilated and massage seats.

Under the bonnet, there is a 2.0 liter turbo petrol engine with maximum power of up to 261 bhp and peak torque of 400 Nm, mated to a 7-speed DSG transmission and standard AWD system. This engine allows the Skoda Kodiaq RS to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds, making it significantly quicker than the standard model.
