New details about upcoming Maruti Brezza ahead of launch – powertrain options, variant-wise availability, safety features and equipment list revealed
Maruti Suzuki has already started teasing the new Brezza with the official launch scheduled for July 24. Based on information obtained by Rushlane, the updated compact SUV will offer several upgrades in powertrain, safety and feature list, while also receiving subtle cosmetic enhancements.
New Maruti Brezza – 3 powertrain options
The biggest update is the addition of a 1.0-litre BoosterJet turbo petrol engine with Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) technology. Sources have revealed that this powertrain will be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and will be offered in LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi+ variants.
The familiar 1.5-litre K-Series smart hybrid engine will continue in the lineup. It will be available with both 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox options. The manual transmission is expected to be offered with the LXi, VXi and ZXi, while the automatic will be available in the VXi, ZXi and ZXi+ variants.
Maruti Suzuki is also set to introduce a revised 1.5-litre K-Series S-CNG version featuring Idle Stop Start (ISS) technology. Unlike the existing model, the updated Brezza will use an underbody-mounted CNG cylinder, which is expected to improve luggage space. This version is likely to be available in LXi, VXi and ZXi variants with a 6-speed manual transmission.

Security and features upgraded
The source also points to a significantly expanded security package. New features are expected to include emergency stop signal (ESS), vehicle exit warning, blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), front parking sensors and front fog lamps with extended lighting function.
Interestingly, the vehicle exhaust warning is expected to be a first for a Maruti Suzuki model. However, ADAS will not be on offer. On the feature front, the new Brezza is expected to be equipped with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports 35+ connected apps, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charger with cooling pad, 64-color ambient lighting and an auto-purifying PM 2.5 cabin filter.
minor changes to the exterior
Exterior revisions are expected to include new dual-tone crystal-cut alloy wheels, a dark chrome front grille and new dual-tone door cladding, complementing the refreshed front and rear styling already previewed in the official teaser.
Maruti Suzuki will officially Launch updated Brezza on July 24Prices are expected to be announced on the same day. This latest SUV will compete with Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV 3XO and Skoda Kylak in the sub SUV segment.
