Bolero remains stable, XUV 3XO faces pressure
Bolero sales remained broadly steady at 8,933 units, slightly lower than the 8,942 units recorded in May 2025. Despite a negligible decline, the strong utility vehicle continued to contribute significantly with 15.40% share. In contrast, the XUV 3XO and XUV 3XO EV recorded sales of 6,717 units, down 15.53% from 7,952 units sold last year. The compact SUV declined by over 1,200 units YoY, making it one of the few Mahindra models to register a significant decline.

Sales of electric SUV portfolio increased
Mahindra’s electric vehicle range contributed 6,343 units in May 2026, led by the XEV 9S, which recorded 3,502 units. The model accounted for more than half of Mahindra’s EV sales and emerged as the company’s sixth best-selling vehicle overall. The combined sales of the XEV 9S, XEV 9e and BE 6 underline the growing acceptance of Mahindra’s innate-electric SUV lineup. Meanwhile, limited demand continued for the XUV400 with sales of 129 units, down 55.05% from 287 units.

Among EVs, the XEV 9e recorded the strongest monthly growth of 20.36%, while the XEV 9S grew by 8.02%. However, BE6 declined by 22.91% compared to April.
Overall, Mahindra’s May 2026 performance was driven by the continued strength of the Scorpio, Thar and XUV 7XO, while its electric SUV portfolio maintained steady growth. With the Sierra and additional EV launches expected to further intensify competition in the coming months, Mahindra remains one of the strongest players in India’s SUV market.
