Aprilia’s SR range of sporty scooters has been launched with special editions to boost sales and generate interest towards them. Aprilia currently offers the SR range in two variants – SR 125 with a 125cc engine and SR 175 with a 175cc engine. Both these scooters now get a special Tribute Edition which starts at Rs 1.17 lakh (ex-sh).

As far as pricing is concerned, the Aprilia SR 125 Tribute Edition has been priced at Rs 1.17 lakh (ex-sh), which is Rs 3,000 more than the standard version on which it is based. The Aprilia SR 175, on the other hand, has been priced at Rs 1.24 lakh (ex-sh) and is Rs 2,000 more than its standard counterpart.

Mechanically, both the SR 125 Tribute Edition and SR 175 Tribute Edition are identical to their respective standard counterparts. The changes lie in cosmetics and aesthetics. The SR 125 Tribute Edition and SR 175 Tribute Edition come with a unique camouflage livery that gives a completely new aesthetic to the scooter.

This new camouflage livery with the Tribute Edition comes with a sort of olive green base color that gets a matte finish. This matte green color contrasts brilliantly with the yellow and red slats to complete the camouflage effect. This triple color camouflage effect can be seen on the front apron and side body panels.

It also has a brown matte shade that we can see on the back of the side body panels, near the SR 125 or SR 175 badging. Red pinstriping (or taping) can be seen on their alloy wheels, which pop over the black base shade for the 14-inch alloy wheels seen on both the SR 125 Tribute Edition and SR 175 Tribute Edition.

same engine as before

As stated above, both the SR 125 and SR 175 are mechanically identical to their standard counterparts. Hence they have retained their respective engines – 124.45cc and 174.7cc. The SR 125’s 124.45cc engine is capable of producing 10.46 bhp and 10.4 Nm, while the SR 175’s 175.7cc engine is capable of producing 13.08 bhp and 14.14 Nm.

Both ride on 14-inch alloy wheels and enjoy the reputation of being premium offerings. Apart from the Tribute Edition colour, the SR 125 is offered in Glossy Mazda Gray + Gloss Black, Glossy Red + Matte Black and Matte Black colours. On the other hand, the SR 175 gets Matte Prismatic Dark, Glossy Tech White and GP Replica.
