The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted thunderstorms and rain in Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada till June 26. Monsoon has moved towards Pune and Raigad, making weather conditions favorable for its further advance into Mumbai and other parts of the state. The IMD continues to predict rainfall at isolated places over Konkan from June 22 to June 26, with moderate to heavy rainfall over Central Maharashtra and light to moderate rainfall over Marathwada during the same period.
For Konkan, the IMD has predicted rain at isolated places from June 22 to June 26. There will be thunderstorms with lightning, winds and moderate to heavy rainfall over Central Maharashtra during the same period. Marathwada is likely to experience thunderstorms with lightning, winds and light to moderate rain between June 22 and June 24.

The IMD has issued an advisory for fishermen along the south Maharashtra-Goa coast, asking them to avoid venturing into the sea from June 22 to June 26. Wind speeds in the area are expected to reach 40-50 kmph, with gusts reaching up to 60 kmph. The weather office said the rains could cause localized flooding in low-lying and urban areas. There may be disruption in transport services. Standing crops may be damaged, and sea conditions are likely to be rough near the coast.
Monsoon, which remained stable for two weeks in Harne in South Konkan and Solapur in Central Maharashtra, has moved towards Pune and Alibaug in Raigad district. The IMD said weather conditions are favorable for further advance of monsoon into other parts of the state including Mumbai.

Although sporadic thunderstorms are being recorded over the state, most areas continue to experience dry weather. This year, monsoon arrived in the Konkan region on June 6. Typically, monsoon reaches most parts of the state around June 15–20. Even till the end of June this year, satisfactory level of rainfall has not been recorded in the state. The weather patterns are changing from June 21 and conditions are favorable for the advance of monsoon.
