
After launching the Mini Convertible in the country, Mini India has introduced a special and limited edition version of the Cooper S. It is called the Mini Cooper S GP Inspired Edition, as the name suggests, it is inspired by the Mini GP, the most powerful production Mini and is stripped-down and track-focused.
What makes this special edition even more special is that Mini India is offering only 30 units of the Mini Cooper S GP Inspired Edition for Indian car lovers. Each of them is numbered, which collectors and enthusiasts dig up. let’s take a closer look.

Mini Cooper S GP Inspired Edition
Launched at a price of Rs 58.9 lakh (ex-sh), the Mini Cooper S GP Inspired Edition is offered in a quantity of 30 units only for Indian enthusiasts and collectors. It gets distinctive elements to differentiate itself from the variant on which it is based. Bookings had started even before the formal launch at a token price of Rs 1.5 lakh.
The Cooper S GP Inspired Edition sports a sole Legend Gray paint scheme, which contrasts sharply with the Chile Red accents. These Chilli Red accents can be seen on its ORVM caps and roof. There are red JCW branded winglets on both corners of each bumper. There is also a JCW branded grille at the front along with a red toe strap.

There is a distinctive red and brown stripe on the bonnet and similar stripes can be seen on the sides, but it gets additional GP inspired badging on the doors. Also special are these stunning 18-inch JCW alloy wheels with red center caps. Red winglets can also be seen on the sides.
It also has ‘1 in 30’ branding on both sides of the C pillars, highlighting its exclusivity. At the rear, the GP Inspired Edition gets a huge JCW-spec rear roof spoiler. The front and back LEDs get three modes that bring unique welcome and goodbye animations.

What do you get from this?
On the inside, the Mini Cooper S GP Inspired Edition is mostly stock, but added with a few extra bits from the JCW Pack trim to highlight its exclusivity. The dashboard is predominantly black with contrasting red highlights. Notable elements are the JCW-spec steering and JCW sport seats, GP inspired branding on the door sills and ‘1 of 30’ branding on the floor mats.
Equipment is almost identical and the GP Inspired Edition gets level-1 ADAS, 9.4-inch infotainment screen, Harman Kardon audio system, HUD and other features. The same 2.0 liter turbo petrol engine as the Cooper S also powers the GP Inspired Edition and this engine is rated at 204 bhp and 300 Nm, mated to a 7-speed DCT that can hit 100 km/h in just 6.6 seconds.
