BMW Motorrad India launched the country’s most affordable twin-cylinder ADV tourer in the form of the F 450 GS. This has sparked a lot of interest among enthusiasts as the prospect of buying a baby twin-cylinder GS motorcycle is quite strong. The launch price of Rs 4.7 lakh for the base ‘Base’ variant was also attractive.
The launch took place on April 23 and the bookings for this ADV motorcycle had started just before the launch. Less than two months after its launch in India, bookings for the F 450 GS have temporarily closed.
BMW F 450 GS booking closed
According to some BMW Motorrad dealers in the country, bookings for the F 450 GS have been temporarily halted. Not because this bike did not find buyers or its interest did not increase among enthusiasts, rather the opposite happened. It seems that dealerships have stopped taking bookings for the F 450 GS due to inventory shortage.
The allocation of the first batch of BMW F 450 GS is said to have been booked or spoken for. The second batch is expected to be dispatched to dealerships after July 2026 and then bookings can resume as usual. This has now led to a waiting period of around 3 to 4 months for booked customers or potential buyers of the F 450 GS.

It should be noted that BMW Motorrad India has not officially confirmed these developments and they have been revealed by dealer sources. The temporarily halted bookings are not for any particular variant, which shows that the demand is across all variants. There is a possibility that buyers may have locked the variants available in the first allotment cycle instead of their favorites to avoid the waiting period.
The top-spec Trophy variant with ERC (Easy Ride Clutch) is most in demand, which is not surprising. Buyers eyeing this Trophy variant may have to wait longer as the second allotment cycle for this variant may happen around September, while the base ‘Base’ and mid ‘Exclusive’ variant allotments are expected soon.
easy ride clutch
The ERC (Easy Ride Clutch) is the centerpiece of the F 450 GS and has piqued the interest of enthusiasts seeking a smooth everyday ride. It also allows manual gear shifts like a regular gearbox. It should be noted that only the top-spec Trophy variant also gets adjustable suspension, which makes it another reason to max it out.
All three variants are equipped with the same 6.5-inch TFT instrument cluster along with all-LED lighting, off-road pegs and a 420cc parallel-twin liquid cooled engine. This engine is capable of producing 48 bhp of maximum power and maximum torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox with the option of normal clutch or centrifugal clutch with ERC.
