Maruti Suzuki India has announced a price increase across its passenger vehicle portfolio, which will be effective from August 2026. According to the company’s latest regulatory filing with BSE, prices will be increased by up to Rs 30,000, though the exact increase will vary depending on the model.
The country’s largest passenger vehicle manufacturer has attributed the latest price revision to Continuous increase in input costs. Maruti Suzuki said it has been taking various cost-cutting measures over the past few months in an effort to mitigate the impact and avoid passing the entire burden on to customers.
Maruti Suzuki prices to increase in August 2026
However, with inflationary pressures elevated and adverse cost environment continuing, Maruti Suzuki says it is now obliged to pass on a part of these additional costs to customers. The company has confirmed that the price will increase by a maximum of Rs 30,000.
However, this does not mean that every car of Maruti Suzuki will become so expensive. The exact amount of increase will vary from model to model. The last time Maruti Suzuki increased prices was in June 2026.
Maruti Suzuki currently has one of the widest passenger vehicle portfolios in India, ranging from entry-level hatchbacks to SUVs and MPVs. Its lineup includes models like Alto K10, S-Presso, Celerio, WagonR, Swift, DZire, Baleno, Frontex, Brezza, Ertiga, Grand Vitara, Victorious, Jimny and Invicto. The upcoming revision will affect all models in the company’s portfolio, although individual model-wise hikes have not been announced yet.
New prices effective from August
The timing of the announcement is particularly notable, as the revised prices will become effective just ahead of the upcoming festive season. Buyers planning to purchase a Maruti Suzuki vehicle can potentially save some money by completing their purchase before the new prices come into effect, subject to vehicle availability and applicable dealer conditions.
The latest announcement comes as automakers face rising cost pressures across various areas of vehicle manufacturing. While Maruti Suzuki says it has attempted to mitigate these increases through internal cost-cutting measures, the company has said that the current cost environment has ultimately made it necessary to pass on a part of the additional burden to the market.
