Kia India has announced that the cumulative sales of the Carensa family has crossed the 3 lakh units mark in the Indian market. First launched in 2022With the addition of the Carens Clavis and the recently launched Carens Clavis EV, Carens has evolved into a broader family of products, giving buyers a choice of petrol, diesel and electric powertrains.

Carens lineup continues to evolve

Kia said the Carensa remains one of its flagship products, receiving regular updates in terms of features, safety equipment, technology and comfort. Building on the success of the original MPV, the company introduced the Carens Clavis as a more premium offering, followed by the Carens Clavis EV to cater to the needs of families looking to switch to electric mobility.

Commenting on the milestone, Mr. Sanhak Park, Chief Sales OfficerKia India said, “The 300,000-unit milestone for the Carensa underlines its position as a segment leader and a true gamechanger in the MPV space. This achievement is a direct result of our product-led strategy, our deep understanding of customer needs and our unwavering focus on quality. It reinforces our conviction that the Carensa is the benchmark for its category, and we look forward to maintaining this momentum as we accelerate our growth journey.” Are energetic.”

Customer preferences are changing

According to Kia, petrol variants account for 60% of the cumulative sales of the Carensa family, while diesel contributes 30%. The recently launched Carens Clavis EV already accounts for the remaining 10% share in the sales mix. The company also highlighted that demand for higher-spec variants remains strong.

Top trims contribute 18% to total sales, indicating that more customers are opting for feature-rich versions equipped with advanced safety systems, connected technologies and premium comfort features. Buyers continue to show interest in both 6-seat and 7-seat configurations.

Strong momentum for Kia in India

The sales milestone of 3 lakh comes at a time when Kia India is seeing strong momentum across its portfolio. The company recently recorded its best ever first half sales performance in India due to strong demand for models like Seltos, Sonet and the extended Carensa family.

Looking to the future, Kia is further strengthening its product lineup with the rollout of the Sciros EV and has also confirmed the launch of the Sorento hybrid SUV for the Indian market, expanding its presence in both the electric and hybrid vehicle segments in the coming months.
