According to sources, Keeway EZI Hypevolt electric scooter will be available in two variants in India.
Till now, Keyway has focused exclusively on the ICE segment in India. With the electric two-wheeler segment registering strong growth, Kiwi may want to claim its share in the pie. Keyway’s first electric two-wheeler for India could be the EZI HypeVolt, which is equivalent to a 125cc petrol scooter. EZI is Keeway’s premium EV brand which was launched in 2020.
Keyway EZ HypeVolt – Performance, Battery, Range
While the core hardware of the EZI HypeVolt is largely the same across global markets, there may be variations in areas such as battery capacity, motor output and range. In India, the EZI HypeVolt is expected to be offered in two variants – V1 and V2. Interestingly, the V1 uses a hub mounted motor while the V2 uses a mid-mounted motor. It is made in China, and is likely to be imported as a CBU.

In the world of electric two-wheelers, we rarely see the same basic model offered with two different powertrain layouts. Keyway’s strategy may be aimed at targeting a broader segment of potential buyers. Specifications of the V1 indicate that this variant is likely to be targeted at budget-oriented buyers. It is equipped with a single 72 Volt, 35 Ah lithium-ion battery pack, which is equivalent to 2.52 kWh.
The EZI HypeVolt V1 has a rated power of 2,000 watts and a climbing ability of 23°. It offers a range of 65 km, which may suit the needs of buyers with limited daily commute. The top speed of the V1 is limited to 80 km/h. Buyers who prefer better performance and higher range can go with the V2 variant of the EZI Hypevolt. While the battery pack is the same, the V2 has two units, adding up to about 5 kWh.

The EZI HypeVolt V2 has a rated output of 6,000 watts. It can tackle steep slopes of up to 30 degrees. The maximum speed is rated at 115 km/h. With its twin battery pack, the V2 variant also has a higher range of 125 km.
Design and Features
The Keyway EZ Hypevolt electric scooter has a sharp, contemporary design that will appeal to young buyers. Key features include dual LED headlamps, sharp body panelling, split seats and 14-inch alloy wheels. The scooter is offered in attractive color options. However, these may vary depending on the specific market.

The EZI HypeVolt features all-LED lighting, keyless start and locks and disc brakes at both ends. With the battery, the scooter weighs 124 kg for the V1 and 150 kg for the V2 variant. The wheelbase of the scooter is 1,454 mm. The seat height of 770 mm seems suitable for agile handling and optimum control.
The Tech package includes a 5-inch TFT LCD display. In global markets, the EZI HypeVolt comes with a host of premium features like traction control system, hill descent control, hill hold control, reverse camera, intelligent cruise control and a USB port. It also has ADAS, dual ABS, parallel battery pack, app control, navigation, underseat storage space for full-face helmet, etc.
It remains to be seen whether the India-spec model gets all these features or not. The Keyway EZ Hypervolt will likely rival the upcoming Ultraviolette Tesseract, the launch of which has now been delayed to 2027. Kiway electric scooter is likely to be launched in India next month.
