The central government has imposed a temporary ban on Telegram. The government has taken this decision due to RE-NEET exam. Many groups on Telegram have been accused of paper leak. Now NEET exam is going to be held again in India, for which the date of June 21 has been fixed.
The government has taken this decision based on the recommendations of the National Testing Agency (NTA). This order has been issued under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act, 2000. Under this order, access to the Telegram platform in India will be restricted for a specified and limited period. This ban will end on June 22, 2026.
Also, orders have been given to the platform to stop the message edit facility on the messages already posted in India. This time will end on 30 June 2026. Sometimes, for proof, those messages may be required which need to be protected from being edited.
