Bajaj Auto’s portfolio has a textbook cruiser lineup under the Avenger brand, which has been on sale for a long time. Over time, Bajaj has updated the lineup with multiple variants and styles as well as multiple engine options to attract cruiser enthusiasts to the product. There has been a change in the Avengers lineup in May 2026.
The company is preparing to launch Avenger 220 Street in the market soon, as mentioned on their official website. Avenger 220 Street is listed with the tag ‘Coming Soon’. However, Avenger 160 Street has been de-listed, indicating that it has been permanently discontinued. let’s take a closer look.
Bajaj Avenger 220 Street
In June 2025, we reported that the company had suggested launching the new Avenger 220 Street in India soon. Almost a year later, it looks like it has come true and Bajaj has now listed the Avenger 220 Street on its official website. It will be positioned alongside the Avenger 220 Cruise, which is a more cruiser-friendly version of this motorcycle.

Till now, Bajaj has offered the Avenger in two variants – Avenger 160 Street and Avenger 220 Cruise. It will share the 220 cc single cylinder engine with the Avenger 220 Cruise that produces 19.03 PS of maximum power at 8500 rpm and 17.55 Nm of peak torque at 7000 rpm, mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
According to the leaked documents, the upcoming Bajaj Avenger 220 Street has a curb weight of 310 kg, width of 806 mm, wheelbase of 1,490 mm, length of 2,210 mm and height of 1,070 mm. It comes with 17-inch front and 15-inch rear alloy wheels shod with 90/90-17 front and 130/90-15 rear tubeless tyres.

Bajaj Auto has listed two colors with the upcoming Avenger 220 Street – Ebony Black and Cocktail Wine Red. Ground clearance is 169 mm, seat height is 737 mm and curb weight is 160 kg with 13 liter fuel tank. Unlike the taller handlebar on the Avenger 220 Cruise, the Avenger 220 Street will come with a street-style shorter handlebar.

It will also miss the tall windshield offered by the Cruze. Also, the Street will get only alloy wheels, while the Cruze will get wire-spoke wheels. The Cruze gets an overdose of chrome, while the 220 Street gets a matte black finish on the engine bay, wheels and other areas. Also worth mentioning are front disc brake and rear drum brake, sporty pillion backrest, semi-digital instrument cluster, halogen headlights and many more.
