Kia Seltos has been one of the most popular premium C segment 4.2 meter to 4.5 meter SUV space. The latest version of this SUV was launched in early January this year and the official ARAI certified mileage figures have now been revealed. This number is slightly less than the number of its previous generation model. let’s take a closer look.
New Kia Seltos ARAI Mileage
ARAI certified mileage figures have been one of the deciding factors for many car buyers in the country. Same is the case with C SUVs, a segment where the Kia Seltos is a popular offering. The company launched the second generation Seltos in January 2026 and it is the longest car in the segment and now has big car appeal.
The new Seltos is heavier than its predecessor and the recently revealed mileage figures are slightly lower than the old Seltos. Diesel remains the star of the new Seltos’ mileage figures, with the diesel MT variant promising up to 19.4 km/l, followed by the diesel AT variant at 17.8 km/l. Seltos is one of the few remaining diesel SUVs in the country.
The majority of Kia Seltos sales come from the NA petrol engine variant and this engine gets two gearbox options – MT and iVT (CVT). Both the gearbox options with this 1.5L NA petrol engine promise similar fuel efficiency of 16.5 km/l.
The third engine option with the new Kia Seltos is a 1.5L turbo petrol unit, offered with two automatic, iMT and a DCT, gearbox options. One would think that the iMT would be more efficient as it is a simple automated manual gearbox. However, this is not the case. The new Kia Seltos Turbo DCT is more efficient, rated at 17.5 km/l, while the Turbo iMT is rated at 15.6 km/l.
A global SUV, hybrid incoming
The second generation Kia Seltos is now a global SUV, sold in markets like India, South Korea and the US and is also going to be launched in Europe soon. Recently, Kia showcased the Seltos Hybrid at the New York Auto Show and it is all set to make a big splash in the C SUV segment. The Seltos Hybrid will also hit the Indian market sometime in 2027.
The 30-inch trinity display consisting of a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 5-inch climate control display, multiple physical buttons, logically designed interiors, advanced Kia Connect telematics with sophisticated OTA updates, the new global K3 platform with a longer wheelbase and refined aesthetics are the notable highlights of the new Kia Seltos.
