
Maruti Suzuki has recorded its highest-ever annual production in India, manufacturing over 23.4 lakh passenger vehicles in FY 2025-26. Production of top models crosses 2 lakhs
Driving this record performance were the five key models – DZire, Forex, Swift, Ertiga and Baleno – Crossing 2 lakh units each Production mark during the financial year. These models remain the backbone of Maruti’s portfolio, catering to a wide range of customer segments. From compact sedans and hatchbacks to SUVs and MPVs, the strong demand across categories highlights Maruti Suzuki’s ability to maintain volume leadership across segments.

Commenting on the milestone, Hisashi Takeuchi, MD and CEOMaruti Suzuki India said this achievement reflects the strength of the company’s ecosystem, which has been built over decades with the support of employees, suppliers and dealer partners. He also highlighted that supportive policy measures and improving market conditions played a role in boosting demand, enabling the company to operate at such high production levels.
Expansion plan to reach 40 lakh capacity
Maruti Suzuki is now aiming to increase its manufacturing capacity significantly. The company has outlined a plan to reach Annual production of approximately 40 lakh units potential in the coming years. Currently, Maruti operates four manufacturing facilities located at Hansalpur (Gujarat) as well as Gurugram, Manesar and Kharkhoda (Haryana), with a combined installed capacity of approximately 24 lakh units per annum.
on the part of future expansionMaruti has also identified land for a new plant at Khoraj Industrial Estate in Sanand, Gujarat. Once fully operational, the facility is expected to add 1 million units of annual capacity, which will play a key role in the company’s growth strategy.
