Hyundai Motor Group is the official partner of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and at the grand stage, the company is expected to reveal its next-generation i20 hatchback. The i20 has been one of Hyundai’s most popular premium hatchbacks on sale. Ahead of its official unveiling, official studio photos of the next-generation Hyundai i20 have been leaked online.
These leaked images give us a better idea of what we can expect from this upcoming hatchback, which is also going to be launched in India. New leaked images show us the exterior and interior of the next-generation i20.
New Hyundai i20 leaked
Ahead of its official debut at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, exterior and interior official studio shots of the new Hyundai i20 have been leaked online. When compared to the existing i20 hatchback, we can see radical changes in the new i20. The silhouette has become more like a crossover than a hatchback, with an angular and square aesthetic.
The door frame is now angular and the roof is flat. The window line is rising up and towards the C pillar area, this window line rises rapidly and merges into the roof. The new i20 comes with thick body cladding on the wheel arches, doors and running boards, which adds to the SUV-like aesthetic.
The headlights are now connected to an LED bar in the middle and they end with Lamborghini-like Y-shaped LED DRLs. The actual headlight elements are below the DRLs in a traditionally located assembly. There is a radar cut-out in the lower grille for the ADAS suite, but the fog lights are missing.
Elements like new ORVMs, all four disc brakes, stylish dual-tone alloy wheel design, traditional door handles, connected LED tail lights, shark fin antenna, faux skid plate in the bumper, black pillars are some of the most notable elements seen in these leaked images.
new interior overhaul
On the inside, we can see a completely new cabin with the new Hyundai i20, which has minimal or no similarities with the current model. The seats are all-new with five adjustable headrests and i20 branding, front center armrest, revised door trims, leatherette upholstery and more. At the front, we can see a completely new dashboard, center console and steering wheel.
Talking about the new i20, the quad dot Hyundai logo has been adopted with steering mounted controls and paddle shifters at both the ends. There are now vertical air vents and the dashboard is dominated by dual 12.3-inch screens housed in a curved housing. Below this, we can see a vertically oriented climate control panel with touch-based controls and a physical dial.
The center console gets dual Type-C ports, wireless charging pad, gear selector, electronic parking brake with auto hold and other elements. Powertrain details, boot space capacity and official details have not been revealed yet. In India, the same 1.2L 4-cylinder NA petrol engine is expected for the standard i20 and an N Line variant with a 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine may arrive later.
