Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest carmaker by volume, is ready to launch an updated version of its popular Brezza SUV. It competes in the high-volume sub 4 meter SUV space in the country and is one of the best-selling cars. The update to a vehicle of this gravity and capacity is important for the Indian market as a whole.
Test mules of the 2026 Brezza have been spotted on multiple occasions and it looks like it is close to launch. We say this because the latest spy shots from automotive enthusiast Kushagra Mittal show the 2026 Brezza updated model without any camouflage under pre-launch testing. Here’s what the new spy shots show.

2026 Maruti Brezza update spied
As far as the exterior design is concerned, Maruti Suzuki has played it safe as it doesn’t see any exterior modifications. The latest spy shots and the earlier spy shots all suggest the same fascia and rear section, with their designs intact, along with the same body cladding and similar alloy wheel design with lighting elements.
The main changes are expected to happen inside and under the bonnet. For starters, the 2026 Maruti Brezza update is expected to come with a new and larger touchscreen infotainment screen. Speculations suggest that the larger 10.2-inch screen seen in the Victoris will come to the Brezza and replace its 9-inch unit.

Another change expected from the Victoris to the Brezza is the under-body CNG cylinder. Instead of going the route of Tata Motors’ dual-cylinder CNG kit, Maruti Suzuki is cleverly relocating its CNG cylinder under its floor, freeing up almost all of the originally planned cargo volume. However, unlike Tata, this system does not offer a spare wheel.
New engine and gearbox?
The main update with the 2026 Maruti Brezza will be under the bonnet. Ever since Maruti Suzuki discontinued its 1.5L DDIS 225 diesel engine, there is no option for a 6-speed manual gearbox. After almost 6 years, the Maruti Suzuki vehicle will get a 6-speed manual gearbox, which was visible in previous spy shots.

Speculations also suggest that Maruti Suzuki may launch new engine options with the Brezza to comply with the B segment tax bracket. Currently, the Brezza only gets a 1.5L 4-cylinder NA petrol engine. With 2026 Maruti Brezza, the company can offer 1.0L 3-cylinder Boosterjet turbo petrol engine. There is also a possibility of getting 1.2L NA petrol engine with Brezza.
It is believed that the company is also working on 1.2L turbo petrol engine. But the chances of it being under the bonnet of the 2026 Brezza are slim. With these smaller engines, the Brezza falls under the B segment tax bracket and could fetch more attractive prices than the current model, which ranges between Rs 8.26 lakh to Rs 13.01 lakh (ex-sh).
