Sonet and Seltos remain Kia’s best-selling models, both registering excellent growth YoY and MoM
Kia India’s strategy of offering a portfolio of both feature-rich and multifunctional models across different segments, continues to attract the attention of buyers in India. Its range of vehicles, including Seltos, Sonet, Carens Clavis, Ciros and Carnival, has led the company to occupy the No. 6 position in the list of best-selling passenger vehicle OEMs in India with a market share of 6.1%.

Kia recorded sales of 27,603 cars in January 2026. This increased by 10.3% year-on-year compared to 25,025 units sold in January 2025. This was a massive increase of 47.9% month-on-month from December 2025 sales of 18,659 units.
Kia Sonet was at number 1 in the company’s sales list with sales of 10,998 units last month. Sonet was also included among the best selling SUVs in India, while it was at number 10 in this list. The Sonet witnessed an impressive YoY growth of 53% at 7,194 units sold in January 2025, while MoM sales also ended on a positive note with a growth of 17% at 9,418 units in December 2025.
At number 2, the new generation Seltos has received a good response among buyers in the country. Sales rose 64% year-on-year to 10,639 units, while MOM sales were up 144% from 4,369 units sold in December 2025. The 2026 Kia Seltos has taken the mid-SUV segment by storm by offering unmatched value for money.
A positive response was also seen in terms of Kia Carens Clavis and EVs with sales of 5,633 units last month. This was a marginal increase of 2% from 5,522 units, while MoM sales were 53% higher as compared to 3,681 units sold in December 2025.
Syros and Carnival sales decline
Kia Sciros is at number four, seeing a decline in its sales in India since its launch. Although it attracted some attention initially, sales of this sub-4 meter SUV have declined rapidly. Sales fell to 275 units in January 2026, down 95% from 5,546 units sold in January 2025. MoM sales were also down 75% compared to December 2025’s 1,116 units. The company is actively testing the Cyros electric SUV, which is scheduled to launch in the coming months.
Kia also has the Carnival in its portfolio, although the demand for this model is still low. Sales last month fell 80% to 58 units, down from 293 units in January 2025, while MoM sales fell 23% from 75 units in December 2025.
