
Hero MotoCorp’s electric mobility brand Vida has entered Nepal, its first international market and the beginning of its global operations. Vida India sales cross 1 lakh in the first half of 2026
Vida recorded sales of 1,02,097 units in India during the first six months of 2026. increased monthly volume It increased from 13,830 units in January to 20,416 units in June. Sales crossed the 20,000 unit mark in May to 20,130 units and further improved in June. This growing domestic acceptance gives Hero a strong base to begin expanding Vida in overseas markets.

Vida launched in Nepal
Talking about Nepal launch, Hero has launched Vida VX2 EVOOTER in Plus and Go variants along with DIRT.E K3 electric off-roader for young riders. VX2 Plus uses two Removable 2.2 kWh battery For a combined 4.4 kWh capacity. Claimed real-world range is 140 km, while top speed is 90 km/h. It can accelerate from 0-40 km/h in 3.1 seconds and supports 0-80% DC fast charging in 65 minutes.
The VX2 Go gets a single 2.2 kWh removable battery, a claimed range of 75 km and a top speed of 70 km/h. Both variants support home charging via a standard 5A socket and offer connected features including navigation, geo-fencing, call alerts and OTA updates. DIRT.E uses the K3 350W motor And the 360Wh removable battery provides up to three hours of riding, depending on terrain and mode. App-based parental controls allow restricting speed and acceleration.

Prices in Nepal are much higher than in India. Vida DIRT.E K3 is priced at NPR 1,99,900, which is approximately Rs 1.24 lakh, while its price in India is Rs 69,990. The VX2 Go 2.2 kWh is priced at NPR 2,99,900 or around Rs 1.86 lakh after conversion, while its price in India is Rs 99,490.
Similarly, the VX2 Plus 4.4 kWh is priced at NPR 3,99,900, which is roughly equivalent to Rs 2.48 lakh, while its price in India is Rs 1.44 lakh. This puts Vida at a significantly higher premium price point in Nepal than in India, which is expected given the various duties, taxes and market structure involved.

Hero wants to increase exports
Vida’s overseas expansion is also significant compared to Hero MotoCorp’s broader sales numbers. Hero remained India’s largest two-wheeler maker in terms of domestic sales in June 2026 with 5,02,890 units. However, Honda lagged behind with 4,68,956 units, while fast-growing TVS recorded 4,11,014 units.
The picture changes significantly in exports. Hero sold 38,269 two-wheelers in June, far behind Bajaj 2,22,439 units, TVS 1,54,403 units and Honda 59,325 units. During April-June 2026, Hero’s exports stood at 1,05,206 units compared to Bajaj’s 6,36,005 units, TVS’s 4,19,737 units and Honda’s 1,98,123 units.
With Vida now entering Nepal, Hero has the opportunity to build its EV business beyond India, as well as expand its relatively small international footprint. Therefore, Nepal could serve as a first step in a more widespread global rollout for VIDA.
