Range Rover has previewed an all-new model called the Range Rover GT, which will become the fifth member of its global lineup alongside the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Velar and Range Rover Evoque. More importantly, the GT is the first completely new Range Rover nameplate since the Velar was introduced in 2017.
Unlike the brand’s traditional SUVs, the Range Rover GT has been developed as a low-slung grand tourer focused on long-distance comfort, effortless performance and all-terrain capability. Range Rover GT – sleek, low profile
The Range Rover GT introduces a completely different design direction for the brand. The test prototypes show a longer and lower silhouette with coupe-inspired proportions. Despite the more road-focused appearance, Range Rover says the GT will retain the all-terrain capability associated with its other models.
The prototype currently undergoing global testing features a special camouflage inspired by the landscape surrounding Range Rover’s Gedon engineering and design centre. The underpinning is the Range Rover GT JLR’s new EMA architecture. This makes it the first all-electric Range Rover to use the new platform. It will be manufactured in Halewood, UK with ICE and hybrid models.
Range Rover has confirmed that the GT will initially launch as a battery electric vehicle. A full hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) option is planned to be introduced later in its lifecycle. Battery capacity, range, charging and performance specifications have not been revealed yet.

Range Rover has also shown the first glimpse of the GT’s cabin. It follows the brand’s minimalist design approach, with most of the technology integrated into the dashboard rather than prominently displayed. A new single-screen setup replaces the traditional instrument cluster with a separate driver display. A hidden air vent runs across the width of the dashboard, while woven textile material is used to integrate and hide the speakers.
There will be a significant focus on passenger comfort, with the Range Rover boasting class-leading second-row legroom. The cabin has been designed to minimize visual and acoustic distractions, befitting the GT’s long-distance travel status.

The Range Rover GT represents a new direction for the brand, combining a low and sleek body style with electric performance and traditional Range Rover capability. According to Martin LimpertManaging Director of Range Rover, it will be the company’s “most car-like, yet unmistakably capable” model to date.
