Kia India is keen to launch its first sub 4 meter electric offering in the country. We are talking about the electric version of Sciros, which is known for its unique styling, excellent interiors, spacious cabin and practical features and equipment. Recently, spy shots of the uncamouflaged Kia Sciros EV were leaked by a Reddit user when it was reportedly out for a TVC shoot.
Ahead of the expected launch date of July 23, the Kia Ciros EV has been spotted testing again, this time in full camouflage. We can see that it is plugged in for charging and these spy images are attributed to automotive enthusiast E Devan.

New Kia Ciros EV spied
Ahead of its debut on July 23, the new Kia Ciros EV has been spotted testing again. It was spied on while charging as it was plugged into a public DC fast charger. Unlike the Creta Electric and Kia’s own Carens Clavis EV, the charging port is located on the front left quarter panel. This situation takes some thinking and planning when parking and charging.
In terms of design, the Kia Ciros EV looks almost identical to the recently updated Ciros ICE model. We can see a slightly unique front bumper where the air intake hole is smaller in the Sciros EV. Other than that, the Kia Syros EV looks virtually indistinguishable from the Syros ICE model. A strange design has also been adopted with its headlights, fog lights, tail lights.

Even the wheels are familiar as these were introduced with the Ciros ICE (pre-update model). From what we can see in these spy shots, the interior is also likely to be the same, with a few EV specific features added here and there. So, the excellent 30-inch Trinity display setup with 12.3-inch infotainment, 12.3-inch instrumentation and 5-inch climate control screen is expected to be carried forward.
The Cyros EV’s tall design will give it excellent headroom and the boxy silhouette will give it a spacious cabin that most rival SUVs can’t match. Features like flush door handles, panoramic sunroof, auto climate control, front and rear ventilated seats, rear AC vents, ADAS suite, wireless charging pad, usable boot and more will also be carried forward.

Specifications and Requirements
Matching the sub 4m dimensions of its ICE counterpart, the Kia Sciros will be positioned against heavy hitters in the EV industry like the Tata Nexon EV and Punch EV as well as the Mahindra
While Kia India has not officially confirmed the specs and battery details, leaked information suggests that a 42 kWh unit and a larger 51 kWh unit will be the batteries the Syros EV will be equipped with. The claimed ranges are 443 km and 520 km respectively. BaaS pricing model, lifetime warranty on battery (15 years) and other exciting elements can be included with Syros EV.
