The Cyros EV is Kia’s second electric offering in the mainstream segment and is expected to be the most affordable EV in India so far.
Kia recently expanded its electric portfolio to include the Sciros EV. It will primarily challenge rivals like Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV 3XO EV. Kia is expected to announce the prices of the Syros EV soon, which could start around Rs 15 lakh. To understand the potential of the Cyros EV, let’s explore its variant-wise features.
Kia Ciros EV variants, performance, range
Kia is offering the Syros EV with 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh battery pack options. These are the same battery packs that are used with the Carens Clavis EV. However, the Syros EV uses the K1 platform, which is the same as the ICE-powered Syros. A total of 7 variants are on offer. The base variant HTK is offered only with a 42 kWh battery pack.

The HTK+ and HTX are available with both 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh (extended range) battery options. The top variants of the Syros EV, the HTX+ and X-Line, are only available with the larger 51.4 kWh battery pack. All variants are equipped with a front mounted electric motor. Power output is 135 hp with the smaller battery pack variant and 171 hp with the larger unit.
The torque output of 255 Nm is the same for all variants. The certified range of the Syros EV small battery pack variant is 443 km. Variants with larger battery pack go 526 km on full charge. These variants have best-in-class performance and range numbers. With the 51.4 kWh variant, 0 to 100 km/h can be achieved in 8.1 seconds.

Syros EV supports DC fast charging up to 100 kW. 11 kW AC charger can also be used. With an AC charger, the 42 kWh variant takes about four hours to achieve a 10-80% charge. In comparison, the 51.4 kWh variant takes 4 hours 50 minutes with an AC charger. With DC fast charging, all variants can achieve 10-80% charge in around 39 minutes.
