Aprilia India has launched the 2026 Tuono 457 Special Edition at a starting price of Rs 3.99 lakh (ex-sh), which is almost Rs 2k more than the starting price of the standard version. Inspired by the legendary Tuono 1000R
Aprilia says the special edition pays homage to the 2006 Tuono 1000R, one of the brand’s most famous naked motorcycles. To reflect that heritage, the bike has been introduced in two new color schemes – mamba black and puma gray. A new smoked flyscreen has been added, which integrates neatly into the front design, providing additional wind protection for highway riding. Pay attention to rider comfort
The biggest changes in the Tuono 457 Special Edition revolve around rider ergonomics and comfort. Aprilia has employed a higher handlebar position which keeps the rider in a more upright posture. It aims to reduce stress on the wrists, shoulders and lower back, especially during daily commutes and long distance rides.
The motorcycle also gets an advanced rider seat that has a high-resilience foam core that is claimed to improve support while reducing vibrations transmitted to the rider. Further improvements include revised suspension settings with softer initial stroke for better ride quality over potholes and rough roads. Preload adjustability is available at both ends, allowing riders to fine-tune the setup to their liking.
Adjustable brake lever added
Another notable addition is an adjustable brake lever, allowing riders to customize the reach of the lever according to hand size and riding style. Aprilia says this not only improves comfort but also provides better braking modulation, stronger control and less fatigue during extended riding sessions. The improved lever ergonomics are also expected to provide better feedback from the braking system.
Same 457cc twin-cylinder engine
Powering the Tuono 457 Special Edition is the same 457cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine that develops 47.6 hp (35 kW) and 43.5 Nm of torque. The motorcycle continues with a full-color TFT instrument cluster integrated with CAN-based electronics architecture. The display supports self-diagnosis and retains advanced functions including lap timing.
The lighting system is entirely LED, with adjustable illumination levels and redesigned front and rear lighting elements. The bike also features an immobilizer-equipped ignition system as standard. Speaking about the launch, Diego Graffi, Chairman and Managing Director Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd said the special edition has been developed with special focus on rider comfort and everyday utility while maintaining the performance and character expected from an Aprilia motorcycle.
