
After taking a look at the top 10 two-wheelers last month, let’s now take a look at the top 10 scooters. India’s scooter market recorded strong growth in April 2026 with total sales of the top 10 scooters reaching 5,94,443 units. This was a healthy growth of 22.2% year-on-year (YoY) compared to 4,86,363 units sold in April 2025. Honda Activa continued to dominate the segment, while Hero Destiny emerged as the fastest growing scooter in the country.
Top 10 Scooters April 2026
Honda Activa retained its position as India’s best-selling scooter with sales of 2,20,774 units last month. It registered a year-on-year growth of 13.3% compared to 1,94,787 units sold in April 2025 and captured a massive share of 37.1% in the top 10 scooter sales list.

TVS Jupiter took the second position with sales of 1,17,383 units. The scooter registered a growth of 14.4% year-on-year and gained nearly 20% market share. Suzuki Access stood at the third position with sales of 70,339 units, registering a growth of 8% over the previous year.
Electric scooters continued to gain momentum as TVS iQube recorded sales of 37,193 units, a strong growth of 34.7%. Bajaj Chetak saw an even stronger momentum with sales of 34,304 units, marking a massive growth of 78.5% compared to April last year. Chetak has now firmly established itself among India’s best-selling electric scooters. Recently Bajaj Auto has updated the nomenclature of Chetak range of electric scooters.

TVS Ntorq continued its strong performance in the sporty scooter segment with sales of 33,994 units and a growth of 33.9%. However, the biggest surprise came from Hero Destiny. Sales increased from just 4,393 units to 25,861 units in April 2025, a phenomenal growth of 488.7% year-on-year. The sharp growth can be largely attributed to the updated Destini 125 and the new Destini 110 gaining popularity in the market.
Interestingly, the Suzuki Burgman was one of the few scooters to decline and yet was recently facelifted. Sales fell 16.1% to 19,337 units from 23,050 units sold a year ago. Meanwhile, Ather Rizta continued to strengthen its position in the EV segment with sales of 17,960 units and a growth of 78.7%. Yamaha RayZR joined the top 10 list with 17,298 units and nearly 22% YoY growth.
Scooter market share April 2026
India’s two-wheeler market recorded strong growth in April 2026, with total sales increasing to 18.72 lakh units as compared to 14.58 lakh units sold in April 2025, registering a strong growth of 28.4%. Motorcycles continued to dominate the market with sales of 11.38 lakh units, accounting for the largest share in total two-wheeler sales. The segment registered an impressive growth of 30.6% YoY adding over 2.66 lakh units compared to the same period last year.

Scooter sales were also strong With a healthy growth of 26.2% at 6.91 lakh units, reflecting the sustained urban demand and growing popularity of autonomous scooters in both ICE and EV segments. Mopeds, though relatively small in volume, also recorded positive growth with sales of 42,246 units, up 9% year-on-year. The overall growth highlights the improvement in consumer sentiment in the two-wheeler market as well as strong rural and urban demand.
