Land Rover Range Rover has been one of the most desirable luxury SUV nameplates in the world and is quite popular among discerning luxury car buyers in India. In the month of May 2026, Land Rover India has made the second major price cut for the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport. The first price cut was due to GST 2.0 reforms.
The second major price cut for the imported Range Rover and Range Rover Sport comes within a year of the GST 2.0 reforms, resulting in a price reduction of up to Rs 75 lakh (ex-sh). This time, the second price cut is a direct result of the India-UK FTA (Free Trade Agreement), which is scheduled to come into effect soon. let’s take a closer look.

Range Rover SV price cut
In September 2025, Land Rover cut the price of its Range Rover models sold in India by up to Rs 30.4 lakh due to the reduction in GST for automobiles. Now, the Range Rover SV and Range Rover Sport SV models imported into the country via the CBU route from UK facilities have received a major price cut. Both these models come with the same 4.4L V8 petrol engine.
The full-size Range Rover SV sticker price has dropped from Rs 75 lakh to Rs 3.5 crore, down from Rs 4.25 crore. The sticker price of the small and sporty Range Rover Sport SV Edition 2 has dropped from Rs 40 lakh to Rs 2.35 crore, which is Rs 2.75 crore (all prices ex-sh). The Range Rover SV received a 17.7% and Range Rover Sport SV reduction of 15% on their price tags.

It is to be noted that all locally manufactured Land Rover vehicles have retained their prices as they do not benefit from the India-UK FTA. These include the Discovery Sport, Range Rover Evoque, Range Rover Velar as well as the locally produced standard Range Rover Sport and standard full-size Range Rover.
No price cut for Defender yet!
Indian SUV buyers eagerly waiting for a price cut on the Land Rover Defender lineup may need to wait a little longer. This is because Land Rover Defender models are not made in the UK but at the company’s facility in Slovakia. Same is the situation with Discovery. Being one of the 27 EU countries, India may see a price cut for the Defender and Discovery models once the India-EU FTA is implemented.

Land Rover India is currently evaluating local assembly possibilities for the Defender lineup due to their popularity in the country. This step will reduce the price of Defender in the country and increase sales. The India-UK FTA was signed in July 2025 and CBU automobiles with an annual quota of 20,000 units can be imported into the country with 30% duty from 110%, and eventually reduced to 10% by the fifth year.
