
India’s top 10 best-selling two-wheelers recorded combined sales of 12,68,886 units in May 2026, up from 11,76,627 units sold in May 2025. This led to a volume increase of 92,259 units and a healthy growth of 7.84% year-on-year. Hero Splendor and Honda Activa continued to dominate the rankings, while TVS iQube emerged as the fastest growing model among the best-selling two-wheelers.
Top 10 Two Wheelers May 2026
Hero Splendor remained India’s best-selling two-wheeler with sales of 3,48,115 units in May 2026. Compared to 3,10,335 units sold in May 2025, Splendor registered a growth of 12.17% at 37,780 units. Its share in total sales among the top 10 models was 27.43%.

Honda Activa took the second position with 2,28,955 units, registering a strong growth of 20.05% compared to 1,90,713 units sold a year ago. Activa added 38,242 units and accounted for 18.04% of total sales. Honda Shine remains at third position with 1,55,441 units. However, it was one of the few models to register a decline, down 1.79% compared to 1,58,271 units sold in May last year.
TVS Jupiter posted another strong performance registering sales of 1,24,767 units. This represented an increase of 27.83% compared to 97,606 units sold in May 2025. Jupiter garnered 27,161 units and remained India’s second best selling scooter after Activa. Bajaj Pulsar stood second with sales of 1,24,270 units. The popular motorcycle range recorded a marginal 1.73% growth at 2,119 units as compared to 1,22,151 units sold a year ago.

Suzuki Access stood at sixth position with 75,729 units. Sales remained largely stable with a decline of only 49 units compared to May 2025. Hero HF Deluxe saw the sharpest drop in the top 10 list. Sales fell from 1,07,768 units in May 2025 to 66,722 units in May 2026, a decline of 41,046 units or 38.09%. TVS Apache recorded sales of 53,900 units, up 9.78% from 49,099 units sold a year ago.
TVS XL also recorded strong growth, growing 30.34% to 48,569 units from 37,264 units. TVS iQube emerged as the fastest growing model among the top 10 two-wheelers. Electric scooter sales increased from 27,642 units in May 2025 to 42,192 units in May 2026, registering a growth of 52.64%.

Scooters boost overall two-wheeler market growth
Looking at the broader segment-wise performance, total two-wheeler sales increased by 14.79% to 19,02,209 units in May 2026 as against 16,57,116 units in May 2025. Motorcycles accounted for the largest share at 58.56% with sales of 11,13,973 units, up 7.20% year-on-year.
However, scooters emerged as the biggest growth driver, registering a sharp growth of 27.38% to 7,39,667 units from 5,80,696 units a year ago. Around 1.59 lakh units were added to the segment due to strong demand from models like Honda Activa, TVS Jupiter and TVS iQube. Moped sales also saw good growth, rising 30.34% to 48,569 units, mainly driven by TVS XL. The data highlights a growing preference for scooters in urban markets, even as motorcycles continue to dominate overall two-wheeler sales.
