When launched in Europe, Suzuki’s new A-segment EV will challenge rivals like the Renault Twingo, Dacia Spring, FIAT 500 and Leapmotor T03.
Last year, Suzuki showcased the Vision e-Sky electric kei car concept at the Japan Mobility Show. The production version has now been seen in Europe. Suzuki may introduce this new EV in Europe next year. It could be one of the most affordable in the A-segment, with prices starting around Euro 20,000 (Rs 22 lakh).
Suzuki E-Sky – Design and Features
The production version of the Suzuki e-Sky maintains a compact, boxy aesthetic. The tallboy profile looks familiar to the ICE-powered WagonR. While the test mule wears heavy camouflage, a few features are worth noting like the projector headlamps. The EV has a straight front fascia and slatted bumper section.
Other highlights include sporty alloy wheels, rounded wheel arches, flap door handles and a flat beltline. While the concept had futuristic-style ORVMs, the production version is equipped with more conventional and practical units with integrated turn indicators. The windows form clean geometric shapes, hinting at the utilitarian character of the EV.
Suzuki had earlier said that the e-Sky has been designed to meet everyday commuting needs. It can be used for office trips, shopping or weekend short trips. In terms of dimensions, the e-Sky Concept is 3,395 mm long. If this size is maintained with the production version, the Suzuki e-Sky could be one of the most compact offerings in the A-segment in Europe.
For reference, the FIAT 500 is 3,632 mm long, while the Leapmotor T03 measures 3,620 mm in length. The Dacia Spring stretches 3,701 mm, while the Renault Twingo e-Tech is 3,789 mm long. At the rear, the Suzuki e-Sky features C-shaped pixel-style lighting elements. These are largely the same as those seen with the concept. Other key features include a prominent roof-mounted spoiler, rear wiper, a wide rear windscreen and flat bumper design. The rear overhang is very short, indicating compact proportions.

Detailed specifications of the Suzuki e-Sky electric car are not available at this time. However, it has been officially confirmed that the EV will have a range of more than 270 km. A single motor is expected to send power to the front wheels. The battery pack may be around 25-30 kWh. The Vision e-Sky is based on a dedicated micro-EV skateboard platform.
While the concept was seen with right-hand drive, the test mule in Europe is a left-hand drive model. Suzuki is likely to introduce this new EV in several global markets. The interior of the e-Sky concept offers a pleasant blend of traditional Japanese aesthetics and modern equipment. A multicolored cabin, complemented by ambient lighting, can really lift the mood.
The tech kit seen with the concept included dual screens for infotainment and a digital console. Other key features include a wireless charging pad, a square 3-spoke steering wheel and a recessed, tray-style dashboard. Suzuki may introduce the production e-Sky model in Europe in 2027. A modified version of the e-Sky may also be introduced in India. Here it will compete with rivals like Tiago EV, MG Comet EV and Citroen eC3.
