Tata Sierra EV launch price
The electric version of the popular Sierra SUV has just been launched in Mumbai and is expected to further expand Tata’s sphere of influence in India’s electric car segment. In terms of design, the Sierra EV looks just as attractive as its ICE counterpart, with a unique feature of its own. The distinctive element is its closed grille, which, in our opinion, looks better than the black element on the ICE model.

At the sides, Tata retains the same silhouette and wheel design as the Sierra ICE, but offers aerodynamic insert alloy wheels for better aero performance. We can see some Tata.ev badges and the same clamshell bonnet and tailgate as well as end-to-end connected LED DRLs and LED tail lights.

Notable outdoor highlights include
flush door handle
19-inch alloy wheels with aero inserts
540-degree camera with transparent mode for underbody view
Most attractive LED headlights in the segment
Gesture operated tailgate
digital key
2,730 mm long wheelbase
622L boot space
Largest Panoramic Sunroof (1,525 mm X 925 mm)
Hidden rubber beading for windows like Range Rover

Tech-loaded cabin experience
On the inside, Tata Motors has mostly retained the same interiors and features of the Sierra EV as its ICE counterpart. We still get a triple-screen setup with light colors and a spacious cabin feel. This is not a bad thing because the Sierra ICE interior was very much liked by the people.

The most notable interior features include
The Horizon View triple screen setup includes two 12.3-inch infotainment and co-driver displays and a 10.25-inch instrument cluster.

Powertrain and Safety
The Tata Sierra EV is powered by multiple battery pack options of 63 kWh and 75 kWh capacity. This has allowed Tata Motors to promise a real-world range of 500+ km and MIDC ranges of 565 km (63 kWh) and 665 km (75 kWh). The higher-spec 75 kWh battery variant gets the option of a QWD dual motor setup – rear motor 234 bhp, 340 Nm and front motor 138 bhp, 164 Nm.

The company is promising a 5.8 second 0-100 km/h sprint with the Sierra EV, which is half a second quicker than the Harrier EV. All that performance comes to the fore in Boost mode. The Sierra EV is based on the Acti.ev platform, equipped with frequency dependent dampers, multi-link front and rear suspension and the software SDV brand’s proprietary TiDAL 2.0 architecture, which allows comprehensive OTA updates and makes the computing power of the Sierra EV.

Tata is promising fast charging with a 1.6C rate to add 263 km of range in just 15 minutes with a compatible charger. The battery is advertised with a lifetime warranty, meaning coverage for the life of the car’s registration, which is only 15 years. The Sierra EV also has considerable off-road capabilities and the SUV recently became the first production EV to climb the Tal Moreb sand dunes.

It has 6 terrain modes with off-road crawl control. Then there are also e-valet self parking facilities. Safety is of paramount importance for Tata Motors and the SUV comes with L2+ ADAS suite and more. Features like V2L and V2V are also present.
