After the first match the Iranian team planned to spend the night in California to rest. But immediately after the match, he was asked to board a plane to Tijuana, Mexico, 140 miles away. “They didn’t even give us time to rest. After the match they said, ‘You have to leave immediately.’ It is very important to take time for rest. But we have been told to board the plane and return to our camp in Tijuana. This really worries us” – said Amir Galanoi.

“To be honest, we don’t know why we are being sent back. It seems very strange to me. It feels like someone else is behind it. Decisions for us are made somewhere else. We had decided to come two days before the match, rest here tonight and return tomorrow at lunch time. We don’t know why that happened. I think we are probably the most abused team in the World Cup.” – Galanoi said clearly.

Ever since America and Israel started war against Iran, Iran’s World Cup journey has been in danger. Iran had requested FIFA to move all three of its group stage matches out of the United States. But FIFA rejected this demand. However, Iran ultimately decided to participate in the tournament. Iran played its first match against New Zealand in a 2-2 draw. Iran’s next match is against Belgium in Los Angeles on the 21st.
