Skoda Kylaq leads brand sales in February 2026 – VW Virtus remains top seller
Despite operating with a relatively limited product portfolio, Skoda and Volkswagen have maintained a steady hold in the Indian market. In February 2026, Skoda remained among the top 10 passenger vehicle manufacturers, while Volkswagen maintained a small but steady presence. The Kylak emerged as Skoda’s best-selling model, while the Virtus continued to dominate the VW sales charts.
Skoda Auto Sales February 2026
Skoda Auto India reported total sales of 6,361 units in February 2026, registering a year-on-year growth of 13.94% as compared to 5,583 units sold in February 2025. On a month-on-month basis, sales improved by 10.84% from 5,739 units sold in January 2026.
Leading the charts for the brand was the Skoda Kylaq, which recorded sales of 4,532 units last month. This marked a year-on-year growth of 24.64% compared to 3,636 units sold in February 2025. Month-on-month sales increased by 40.75% from 3,220 units in January 2026, highlighting the strong demand for compact SUVs.
The Skoda Slavia sedan came in second place with 1,674 units sold in February 2026. This represents a strong growth of 85.79% YoY compared to 901 units sold in February 2025. However, sales declined by 13.98% MoM compared to 1,946 units sold in January 2026. The flagship Skoda Kodiaq recorded sales of 146 units, registering a sharp growth of 1360% YoY. 10 units were sold in February 2025. On a month-on-month basis, Kodiaq sales improved by 5.04% compared to 139 units sold in January 2026.
In contrast, Skoda Kushaq sales declined sharply as the brand prepares to start deliveries of the facelifted model from this month. Only 9 units were sold in February 2026, compared to 1,035 units sold in February 2025, a year-on-year decline of 99.13%. Month-on-month sales also declined by 97.93% from 434 units sold in January 2026. Octavia and Superb recorded no sales in February 2026.
volkswagen sales february 2026
Volkswagen India reported total sales of 2,639 units in February 2026. This declined by 15.14% year-on-year compared to 3,110 units sold in February 2025. Month-on-month sales declined by 2.62% compared to 2,710 units sold in January 2026. The Virtus sedan was the brand’s top contributor with sales of 1,804 units. Sales declined 1.8% MoM from 1,837 units in February 2025 and 4.09% MoM compared to 1,881 units sold in January 2026.
The VW Taigun stood second with sales of 698 units. This represents a decline of 45.08% from 1,271 units sold in February 2025, while month-on-month sales fell by 11.65% compared to 790 units sold in January 2026. The Taigun facelift is currently under development and is expected to bring exterior and interior updates.
The recently introduced VW Tayron three-row SUV recorded sales of 113 units, a significant improvement compared to 5 units sold in January 2026. The VW Tiguan recorded 23 units, showing a massive growth of 2% compared to the 2 units sold in February 2025 at 1050. However, sales declined by 32.35% MoM compared to 34 units sold in January 2026. Meanwhile, Volkswagen Golf GTI recorded sales of 1 unit during the month.
Joint SAVWIPL Sales
Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd (SAVWIPL) combined sales stood at 9,000 units in February 2026, showing a marginal improvement compared to 8,693 units sold in February 2025. Month-on-month combined sales have also increased from 8,449 units recorded in January 2026.
With the Kailash getting a strong foothold and updates planned for models like Taigun and Kushaq, the Skoda-Volkswagen Group will look to further strengthen its position in the Indian passenger vehicle market in the coming months.
