Renault India is all set to launch Duster on March 17, 2026. The move will mark the much-awaited re-launch of Duster in the Indian market. After the Duster, Renault India will bring a new sub 4 meter SUV, which will enter India’s high-volume B segment SUV space with the ‘Mini Duster’ to take on cars like the Brezza, Nexon and others.
The company has just previewed this ‘Mini Duster’ in concept form with the name Bridger Concept. One does not need to be a genius to understand that this vehicle has a lot in common with the Mahindra Vision S and in terms of ethos it is its strongest rival so far. Here’s a detailed design comparison between the Bridger and the Vision S.

Renault Bridger vs Mahindra Vision S
On August 15, 2025, Mahindra unveiled four new concept vehicles at the Freedom NU event in Mumbai. All four will be deployed on the NU IQ platform. Of these four, the Vision S had begun testing even before its unveiling, suggesting it would launch before the other three. It has been spotted testing several times in India and is expected to be launched in 2027.
The Renault Bridger Concept, on the other hand, was unveiled today and is set to go into production in 2027. This is Renault’s big bet on the Indian market and its production version will be designed, developed, tested and manufactured in India. While India will be the primary market, production-specific versions of the Bridger will be exported to markets such as Africa, Latin America and the GCC.

similar design ethos
Both the Renault Bridger and the Mahindra Vision S share a lot of elements in common. For starters, both are sub 4 meter SUVs with a boxy and robust design aesthetic with a tailgate-mounted spare wheel. Both SUVs aim for that lifestyle SUV look, but unlike the Maruti Jimny and Mahindra Thar, sit on a monocoque platform rather than ladder frame construction.
Mahindra showcased its Vision S concept with several off-road accessories like jerrycan, ladder and flood light. We have seen tests of the production-spec version of the Vision S and it is much less wild in design and also has circular headlights.

Both the vehicles in this comparison come with a strong and flat fascia, flat sculpted bonnet, large alloy wheels, chunky wheel arch cladding, flared fenders with angular creases for aggression, boxy proportions with a strong window line, roof rails and LED lighting. The Renault Bridger’s LED lighting signature looks a little more sophisticated, complemented by the glossy black grille and illuminated Renault lettering.
The glass area in both vehicles is large and the boxy proportions should unlock maximum interior volume as well. Renault is also promising around 400L of cargo volume. Both get side-hinged tailgates with an interesting LED tail light signature. The interiors of the Bridger Concept have not been showcased yet, while the interiors of the Vision S have been showcased and spied several times.
