Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd has launched its second mainstream offering for the country in the form of the Gravitas sub 4m MPV. It is a badge-engineered version of the Renault Triber and the launch price of the Gravitate is Rs 5.65 lakh (ex-sh). Deliveries of the Nissan Gravita have now begun. let’s take a closer look.

Delivery of Nissan Gravity MPV begins

The Gravitas MPV has been one of the most important launches for Nissan Motor India. This expands the company’s existing mainstream portfolio from a sole Magnite SUV to two. The launch price of the Gravitas MPV is Rs 5.65 lakh (ex-sh) and is also available with a limited edition Launch Edition, which gets more features than the standard model.

The standard Gravitas is offered in four trim levels – Visia, Acenta, N-Connecta and Tekna trim levels. Prices for the Tekna AMT go up to Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-sh). The launch variant starts at Rs 8.35 lakh and goes up to Rs 8.93 lakh (ex-sh). There are five colors to choose from – Forest Green, Metallic Grey, Onyx Black, Blade Silver and Storm White.

The units had started arriving at dealerships and deliveries have now started. Nissan Gravitas comes with a unique identity of its own. It has a new and larger front grille which gives it a sporty appeal. There are also new bumpers along with new wheel covers on the stylish wheels. The Launch Edition also gets exclusive orange highlights and side graphics.

The LED headlights and taillights and the entire side profile look more or less the same as the Triber. On the inside, there’s an 8-inch infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, manual AC, a wireless charging pad, manually dimming IRVMs, keyless entry and push button start, steering mounted controls, auto headlights and auto wipers, flexible second-row seats with dedicated vents on the B-pillar and even removable third-row seats.

The launch edition brings more!

The Triber has more similarities than differences. This changes with the launch variant, which gets unique features that the Triber doesn’t even get. Exterior orange highlights and decals, JBL speakers, dual-channel dashcam, air purifier, neck cushion and back cushion with ambient lighting.

There is only one engine option to choose from, which is a 1.0L 3-cylinder NA petrol engine unit capable of producing around 70 bhp of maximum power and 96 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT gearbox options. There is a CNG concept that Nissan showcased at the launch, which comes with two retrofitted CNG cylinders placed vertically. It is expected to be launched soon.
